Hi,

I have been feeding my two cats wellness wet and dry since I adopted them. They are now a year and a few months. They have loved it and eat every bit. I had a lady come over to my apartment; she was watching them for me for a weekend and suggested feeding them more of the wet food over giving them an extra handful at night when they were out of food. I was using a 3 oz can and decided to change to a 5 oz can but changing to wellness core. I only used half of the can with a handful of dry. They ate it up the first day and then the second day they sniffed it and walked away. I then gave them some dry food and they would eat that still but would not touch the wet.
I then bought some cans of the original wet food and they still wouldn't eat the food only the dry. I tried putting some treats in the food and they still were not interested.

Any suggestions on what to do to get them back eating??

Thank you!

Hmmm, that's strange. So they were eating the Wellness wet just fine until you went to the bigger can? Honestly, sometimes I think cats are trying to be aggravating! :lol3:
My one fussy eater will usually eat a good portion out of whatever little can (3 oz) I give him, so I find that easier just to give him fresh wet each time. My other cat will eat whatever is leftover. It does get more expensive though than feeding the bigger cans.
I doubt there would be any difference for the formulas between small cans and larger ones. It's usually just the fact they've been refrigerated that fussy cats don't like.

Well the 3 oz can was kitten formula and the 5 oz was wellness core a chicken kind. The only time I refrigerated the wet was when there was leftovers but they still wouldn't touch the wet that came directly from the can at room temperature.

I don't get why now they won't eat their original food now. I don't know what to give them to make them eat...

OK, I'm thinking the kitten formula is tastier than the Wellness Core! More calories and probably more appealing to them, though they have to get weaned off that now they're not kittens any more.

Yeah that makes sense. I talked to the vet about changing from kitten formula to regular cat food and he said it's fine to stay on kitten but since I switched for 2 days they won't even eat the kitten formula though just the dry.
