how pure do these 'russian blues' look to you

i purchased a girl for £350. as all genuine breeders were out i decided to just buy one off gumtree knowing its not a genuine pedigree but hoping it would hold a lot of the russian blue cats qualitys because it had (seemingly) a lot of russian blue in these cats

Is one of these cats the one that you bought recently?

With the kittens in the picture it is difficult to tell simply from looking at a photograph as fur is not yet taking on the adult appearance and the eye colour is not yet developed.  With the more mature cat, which I am thinking may be the kittens' mother,  although the coat has a lovely sheen and overall the physique looks in keeping with a Russian Blue the eye colour is not green so does not meet the breed standard.  If this is the cat they told you was a registered RB with papers I would question this I'm afraid.   If you live in the UK or the breeder you bought from is in the UK you can check out whether a cat breeder has any recorded history of mis selling cats / kittens by looking on line at the register held by the GCCF.

If the amount shown is what you paid then this is a lot for a cat that does not have pedigree papers.  (I didn't pay much more for a champion show quality pedigree RB with papers).  That said, as long as you are happy with the appearance and nature of the cat that you have bought, and your cat is in good health this is the important thing.   At a guess I would say the blue gray cat you have bought will be a Maltese and not Russian Blue.   I would love to see some photographs and know a little more about your cat just the same!
