Topaz my elderly cat isn't doing well at all. He developed an upper respiratory infection is not eating. He's been on anti-biotic's. At the vet's he stopped eating completely with them , so we took him home. He is the kind of cat who suffers separation anxiety. As soon as we got him home he started to eat a little. Sounded promising . However he has slowly resorted back to having difficulty eating. We've been putting in the bathroom with the shower on so the steam will help clear his sinuses. (This has worked in the past, with a cat before with the same problem, however a much younger cat. ) 4 to 5 times a day, were doing this.

On top of that, Athena had to be a mass taken out of her. She had cancer on one of the teats. They took it all out, but the vet said to keep an eye for any more.  She was on pain killers for 6 days. She at least looks at lot better and is eating.

So far the week is sucking majorly!!

Could use some prayers for my beloved kitties. ***Tears***

Thank you all!

Poor babies and poor you!  Big hugs for all you've been through.  For the stuffy nose, you might try giving him Little Noses saline drops.  That helps to break up all that snot in the nasal passages.  Also, get some stinky food (Fancy Feast works great, get the pate variety) and add just a bit of water to it so it's like oatmeal, warm the food up in a water bath or in the microwave for a few seconds.  This will enhance the aroma and maybe entice him to eat.  Also, try elevating the food dish a bit for him.

Oh, Kathy.....I am so sorry about your furkids! Do they know what it is with Topaz? URI? Allergies? Our Boo gets allergy problems so bad they have to give him shots about 3-4 months. And then within about 24 hours, he's improving. But it's so bad with him that the snot flies. I hope he starts to eat again. I agree with Stephanie about the FF pate. Or even meat baby food mixed with warm water. Canned tuna?

And poor Athena! That's terrible for her. I'm glad she's doing better.

Kathy,
for you. I hope the kids start getting better soon!

I know what helped my cat for the few days his sugar was to high was forcing in a high calorie supplement I got from Petsmart.  Used it  only 2 days.  He is fully recovered now. I am having a rough go past few weeks with the cats and just really hope it settles so I know the feeling.  Vet bills just keep coming.
