I have three cats: 10 year old Licorice (female LH, territorial & overweight), 4 year old Charlie (male LH, calm & carefree), and 6 month old Arya (female SH, typical kit). Arya sleeps in my bedroom for her own safety but I noticed one night after a few minutes she wasn't with me. Immediately I go to find her because Licorice despises her, I have had several cases where Licorice has attempted to attack Arya, therefore Licorice stays mostly separated from the kitten. Anyways, I came to find Arya only completely covered in feces! And Licorice nearby licking her own bum which I found to be covered in feces as well! I looked everywhere and could only find a trail of smeared feces in the carpet leading from Licorice to Arya...is it possible Licorice tried to use the kitten as her own litter box? Or has anyone else had this issue? I was able to bathe Arya with no problem but Licorice has had disturbing behavior since Arya turned six months: attempting to come into my bedroom which she has NEVER done, attacking the kitten, stealing toys from Arya when she's playing with them, I've never had this issue with Licorice before, not even when Arya first came to be adopted by my family. I'm becoming very worried for the safety of Arya that Licorice is now only allowed roam of the house when the kitten is napping in my closed bedroom or at night when Arya is still in my closed bedroom.

Regarding the feces, I truly do not know and am sorry that happened to you.

Regarding the general problem, it is good they are separated for now.  Have you thought of completely redoing introductions? This is a great article about introducing cats to cats http://www.thecatsite.com/a/introducing-cats-to-cats

If you follow each of the steps and go slowly and carefully, they should be able to come to coexist.

to you all.

Thank you for the link. They were introduced as new housemates should always be but I believe a new intro is in order.

Do you know who's feces, could you tell if it was Licorice's or Arya's?

When my new cat, a 2 y.o. large male Teddy, adopted four months ago, cornered the resident little senior girl Sissi on a couple occasions, she was so terrified that she pooped right there, on the floor. When I got to the scene, she was lying on the floor, on her poo, and he was sitting and blocking her exit. He didn't attack her though, but if he did, the poo could get smeared over both, probably mostly over her.

Could it be Licorice attacked Arya while you were sleeping, and Arya pooped out of fear, then they got rolling in a fight on Arya's feces?

Also, with us there was similar situation when I tried to keep Sissi in my bedroom at night for her safety - Teddy was so jealous he would be crying by the door half of the night, then run after Sissi immediately after the door was opened in the morning. Which of course made their relations even worse.

It helped for my cats' relations having the aggressor cat Teddy with me in my bedroom at night. Looks like it boosts his self esteem big time, and he goes much easier on Sissi during the day.

I am thinking, could it be Licorice is being jealous of Arya sleeping in your bedroom, together with you, while she, Licorice, the resident cat and the obvious Queen of The Castle, is locked out?

They say it is sometimes harder for t females to get along, although it's not a rule. But maybe Licorice sees Arya as a challenge for her position now when Arya is getting out of her kitten stage and maturing as female. It usually calms down the hormone related disputes when cats are spayed/neutered, but won't necessary make Licorice like having Arya around.

Getting to the point of Licorice tolerating Arya without stalking her, will be the first goal I guess.

Sending you best wishes, don't have experience with 2 females together, sure someone on here can give you a good advice.

Yes, Arya is spayed as well as Licorice and Charlie is neutered.

Licorice has never slept in my room and actually feels very uncomfortable in there because I don't tolerate her rash behavior towards other cats, including Arya and Charlie and neighborhood cats. Her throne as a good way to put it is my grandmother's bedroom: the master bedroom. Right now all cats are being kept isolated from each other until they are ready for the next stage of re-introduction.
