My cats new trick

So for the last few weeks Ive had problems with my cats scratching all the litter out of there litter boxes like literally taking the cat litter out leaving quite a mess. Maple would roll in it like she does in dirt, anyone else had this problem and what have they done I have brought a covered litter tray to try that

Has there been any change in the litter recently?  Most cats do not like the covered litter boxes, but instead prefer more space.  I use a Sterlite (similar to rubbermaid) container that is about 18-22inches long.  I also make sure the litter is 2-3 inches deep.  Also to help with litter that is scattered about, make sure you have a litter attract mat under or beside the box.

How many kitties do you have?  The golden rule is to have one litter box for each kitty and sometimes one more.  I have 2 indoor cats and 3 litter boxes.  If you have more than one cat, one cat may be staking claim on the box.  Get another litter box.

I had 3 litter trays for my 2 cats, there cat litter hasn't changed but I do have the grip may just at the door to the litter cupboard, I brought a covered litter box but am not using the flap and they actually seem to love it and I'm going to get a 2nd one, I think the reason they like it because now they can't annoy eachother while the other is in the toilet
