Titan got neutered today and I took his e collar off because he looked so miserable and he couldn't eat or drink. I won't be home all day to supervise him which makes me worry that he will lick his incision. So far he is just laying there and is still a little wobbly. Do u think the e collar is a must? So far I haven't seen him even acknowledge his incision but like I mentioned before he is still a little out of it. Help please!!!

In all the cats I had spay or neutered I never used a collar.  If anything opens up wash your hands and gently close it back over.

Is there anything I can use other than the e collar?

No, I have never used the collar either, and even if he does lick it, that's fine, it's chewing and ripping on stitches that is the concern, but especially males, they simply do not bother.

They also heal very fast.

Yeah, I would lose the collar and not worry about him, he will do fine :)

Thank u so much it was breaking my heart to see him with that thing. Then the vet said to leave it for 14 days but I say that's too much!
