I didn't know where else to post this, but I had to share!

My cat Leon was carried off (or chased off) by some unseen animal last month, on my birthday no less! We presumed him dead, because we live in an area with lots of coyotes.

Flash forward a month exactly, and he came back 3 pounds lighter, crying and yowling all over the place. I took him to the vet right away and he is just fine other than having lost 25% of his body weight...

He is truly a special kitty, and he must be really tough, because he survived on his own as a senior cat in the wild with no front claws!

Has this ever happened to any of you?

Thanks, guys!

I would keep all of my kitties indoors, but I live at home with my parents at this point so it is not my decision, unfortunately! When I have kitties of my own in my own home, they will be indoors.

Hooray! So glad he came back to you safe and sound! The yowling must have been to get your attention and his joy to be back in his home with his people.
Yay Leon!

That's great news!  It's too bad about not being able to keep him in though, because that is the case hopefully you have a collar w/ your info on it, as well as

getting him micro chipped.  So glad he is back!!

Thank you all so much! Yeah, trust me, I have really fought to have my kitties indoors! I will definitely be getting them all collars and microchips now! Thank you for the advice, guys :) <3

I'm really happy to hear your good news!

Do keep a watch on Leon's health, though, he's been through a traumatic experience and that can trigger health problems. A good argument for keeping kitties indoors (that your parents might appreciate) is that the cost is lower to keep them in (less vet bills and emergency care).

Best of luck to you and Leon!

I love stories with happy endings. How exciting to get a pet back who was presumed gone forever. I am excited for you and your fur baby.
