I need help. I adopted a kitten from my brother this Sunday (spur of the moment decision - I fell in love :-)) and I am not sure how old (he's clueless as well) she is. But my assumption is she is about 4-6 months. I'm having her first vet visit done on the 22nd of this month, but... the problem is.. she is a picky eater and we don't have any "healthly" options in town for kitten food I prefer so I've been feeding her cat food grain free... she isn't a fan of Blue Wilderness and only thinks Wellness and Weruva is so-so. But, I know I need to be feeding her kitten food. Any suggestions? I did order "Orijen cat / kitten dry food" online to feed her during the day (hopefully she likes it)- which still hasn't came arrived yet. I should get it this Saturday. She tends to be a fan of fish more than chicken. She won't eat turkey or duck... (Blue Wildernes). I'm stressing over the food situation when I should be enjoying having a little furball running around my house! :lol3:

What do you feed your kitten?

.. and where do you order from online? (if you order online - which needs to be an option - and hopefully not extremely expensive/bulk because I'll need to make sure she likes it first before I order in bulk)

Thanks all,
Abby's mommy

PS -
I got the low dust ultra precious cat Dr. Elsey's cat litter which should arrive today along with the cat condo. The Tidy Cats seem to be making her sneeze a lot so I want to switch out the litter.

Also, any suggestion on healthy cleaning products safe for kittens? Like for mopping... and spraying for spiders/bugs in the house? :cat:

My 11 year old cat passed away in December from cancer (pictured in my avatar)...and I'm so new to kittens.. kind of lost!!!!!!

If you're feeding canned food, regular adult formulas are probably fine. It's more of an issue with dry food, where adult foods can be too low in protein and fat for a kitten. With canned, which is generally higher protein anyway, a nice variety of brands and flavors should give her the nutrition she needs (as long as they aren't "weight loss" or "indoor" types).

I like ordering from chewy.com, they have very good prices and excellent customer service. I've had fewer dented cans from them than any other online store. Amazon can be a good option too, but be sure to compare prices with other stores - sometimes things can be way overpriced on amazon. Onlynaturalpet.com sells individual cans, so you can try something new without buying a whole case.

Dr Elsey's litter is excellent, much less dusty than Tidy Cat.

I personally prefer to use natural cleaning products in the house, as much for my sake as for the cats - plain unscented Dr Bronner's soap, vinegar, baking soda. For mopping I like water with a little vinegar in it. And I don't spray spiders, I vacuum them up - or step on them.
