I have an 11 week old kitten coming home from the SPCA in two days so I've been spending a lot of time on google trying to figure out what the best foods are and I've found so many different opinions. What I'm planning to do is give him 2 (or 3?) meals a day of canned wet food and then give him a small serving of dry food to munch on throughout the day. I know its best to feed only wet foods but I don't have a ton of money to spend on cat food.
So for dry food I understand that its best to stick to one brand to avoid tummy upset, right? For brands I was thinking either Orijen, Evo, or Blue Wilderness.
And then for wet canned food I've read on these forums that it's okay to switch up brands, like feed him one brand one day and then the next day a different brand, is that right? So then I was thinking I would feed him mainly fancy feast because it's cheap but then every couple of days give him a can of better quality canned wet food like Evo, Blue Willderness, Wellness, etc.
Does that sound like an okay feeding schedule? Which dry foods are the best in your opinion?Which wet foods are the best in your opinion? Any other feeding advice? Or general cat advice? (:

If you have a Petsmart near you, I would try Simply Nourish Source Kitten dry. It's high protein and relatively low carb when compared to a lot of dry food options

For wet, you might want to compare price and can size. Sometimes the larger cans of some brands are cheaper than buying the same amount in small Fancy Feast cans.

Is it higher protein and lower carb than Orijen, Evo, or Blue Wilderness though? Because I want something that's high quality and grain free.
