I'm looking at Amazon reviews for the Loc8tor Pet and it seems to me that the most common complaint is about range. I live in a rural but very wooded area, and I'd be really annoyed if I couldn't locate my cat 80' away when the product boasts 400' (under ideal conditions). I'm wondering if the people who were disappointed w/the range knew what they were doing.

Now there's also the less tried LoCATor which boasts up to a mile coverage. But, it's a lot more money and significantly heavier (0.7oz vs Loc8tor Pet's 0.175oz). Because of the spelling of the heavier dutier product, on-line reviews are elusive.

Can anyone lend any insight into these product or maybe even recommend another?

Sorry for the delay to your thread! I have no clue on this one but hoping a bump to your thread may catch someone's eye and offer up an answer. :)

At least I didn't get banned for spamming like I did when making a similar post on Pets.ca
I guess it'll be up to me to review the product (the more expensive one), after I hemorrhage what will probably amount to 500CAD after currency exchange and tax  I hate new technology, but I love my cats
