Lost the eldest cat today and his friend is missing

Just wondering if they mourn and she may have taken off for awhile.

the others have been around to eat.. But not her and they were best friends. Her ONLY friend. And she is ALWAYS around any time.. Not sure if she even saw him. He passed under my neighbors parked car.

Any input on this would be helpful. Im already heartbroken and now very concerned.

Do you know what he died of? A sudden death with no obvious cause makes me think of poisoning and she may have gotten some too . Hopefully that's not what it was and she'll be home soon .

Do you know why the older cat passed?  Was he ill?  Could he have been poisoned?  If the latter, you might well worry about his best friend and if she got into whatever he got into.  I hope she turns up soon.  Yes, they DO mourn, but mine all seem to visit the grave ad hang out there, they don't go away.

Animal control came out to get him and said by his teeth he ws very old. He didnt look well for awhile and I felt his time was near. He was pretty thin.

I fed and removed the food by 7 am and my neighbor found him around 10. They are somewhat protected as no one goes back in the yard without this neighbor seeing...

Is unfortuately possible though I suppose....did enter my mind.

Im so nervous about feeding tomorrow. If shes not there ... Im going to be very upset.
