Deworming

I have some kittens that will be getting drontal or droncit (unsure of which a friend is able to get a hold of). If it is drontal (which already contains pyrantel) will it be ok to use after I used plain pyrantel?

I would not worry about it so much but I dont know when she will get the tapeworm med (and yes it is a confirmed case of tapeworms) but the kittens are fairly ill and to make sure they are getting the nutrients I really want to de-worm them tonight.

So basically I want to give pyrantel tonight and at the earliest do drontal tomorrow night. Do you think this is safe? Or best to see if she remembers tomorrow?

It would be wise to find out what your friend is getting before giving anything tonight so you don't double the dose of pyrantel pamoate, although it is an extremely safe medicine.  Waiting one day will not make a huge difference to your kittens.  Alternatively, use the pyrantel pamoate tonight and use PLAIN praziquantel (i.e. Droncit, or the praziquantel tapeworm tabs tomorrow or the next day.  Tapeworms don't make your kittens sick, they just look gross, so there is no reason to rush that part of the worming.  You can get over the counter praziquantel tablets in most feed stores and some pet stores.
