Last Saturday I picked up 4 kittens that were two weeks old. The mother cat had been missing for over 48 hours and the girl that had them could not take care of them.
I have taken care of them for the past 7 days and they are thriving, they had their first vet visit and he said they look great and are very healthy.
Today I got a message from the girl who found the kittens and the mother cat has returned. She was locked in a vacant apartment for the past week, she is lucky to be alive.
She wants me to bring the kittens back or come get the mother.
I am concerned about several things
1. Would she even still have milk after being away from the kittens for 9 days?
2. Would she reject or kill them?
3. I have 6 other cats,so I can't bring the mother into the house, so they would be moved into a room in the garage.
I don't know what to do. I know the mother cat is the best to raise kittens, but these are strange circumstances.
