My 12 week old kitten has started hacking or wheezing. They come in little bursts, about 2 coughs, and then they stop. They started a couple days ago, stopped for a day, and started again a little after yesterday when we took her to the vet. Today we started her on a little bit of wet food, and about a few minutes ago, we heard her start hacking again. She bends over like she's trying to vomit a hairball, but it never comes out. I'm getting worried because I heard that these symptoms could be for feline asthma or some respiratory sickness. We are gointgto stop by her vet for some testing on a parasite, and I while I'm there I will ask if it is anything to worry about. Any suggestions on what it might be?

Do kittens that age have a problem with hairballs? If you keep your phone or camera ready to shoot a video, the vet will be able to better help you, but will most likely want an x-ray.

Is this a rescue kitty? Was a stool sample taken to the vet? My ferals get lung worm, and it sounds like asthma or hairballs.
