Hello all!

We're Mattia and Elena and we're the proud guardians of Fedra, a beautiful eight year old gray cat (pictured on avatar). We adopted her in a shelter, she had been abandoned two weeks earlier in downtown Milan (Italy) and was totally scared. We brought her home and with some patience she managed to sneak out of her hiding place and finally became the princess of the house.

We hope our presence will be a mutual pleasure for us and for all the other members.

Ciao!

Welcome to TCS!  It's lovely to meet you.  I used to live in Italy long ago, a wonderful place!  Bless you for rescuing.

Ciao.
Welcome to TCS.  I just noticed your beautiful picture and if you continue to post fun and beautiful pictures like this one I will be very happy to view them all.
There might be a few other members around who would love to know how your Fedra became so happy to be brushed: how cute.

I'm looking forward to hearing more about you all, and hope you enjoy TCS as much as I do.

Thanks MServant, thanks Nurseangel!

Thanks for the kind words. Let me take the chance to post a couple more pictures of our beloved Fedra. Here's a little bit of her story in case you're interested. Me and my girlfriend moved in together, and we thought about getting a cat. My girlfriend got in contact with a local private cat shelter, when we arrived there we got to know Fedra (that's the italian name for Phaedra, mythological character). At first we couldn't see much of her, she was hiding under a couch, and would not want to come out. Then one of the volunteers picked her up, and we could see her in all her beauty: a chubby, friendly 8kg cat (an astonishing 17,6 lbs!). She wouldn't protest much when picked up, just a timid "meow". Anyway, we then learned about her sad recent history, the fact that she had been abandoned in a cat transport cage in Milan. Luckily one of the volunteers who happened to be on her way to bring a cat to the vet to be neutered, she had noticed the cage, stopped her car and checked it out. And so she was rescued. When we brought Fedra home, well, at first she obviously wasn't very communicative, she spent the first two days under the bed. But then, we were able to lure her out of there (with a little bit of food) and now she roams freely in the house! We must say that we're very satisfy with her. She is a nice, big lady, she is affectionate (whenever she feels like it), she respects our timetable (she never wakes us up when we're asleep), she often wants to sleep nearby us. All in all, I'd say a great cat. Oh, one great thing that she does is: whenever she feels like cuddling, and somebody is sitting down, she jumps on that person's lap, she snuggles in between the two legs, retracts the paws and let herself be pet, starts purring, and falls into a state of deliberate semi-unconciousness! lovely.

Ok, enough talk! Here are the pictures!!!

She has a beautiful and gentle expression, what a lovely cat.  And very lucky to be alive having been abandoned in such a way.  She sounds perfectly at home with you.
