I posted a picture of my kitten's spay incision yesterday because it was all red and ugly. I have to wait until next week to see a vet but I wanted to ask about a new development I noticed last evening.

My kitten had clear drainage and it was all around the incision. Basically her fur looked wet (as if she had cleaned it) but she hadn't licked the area recently.

Then at night when I looked at it again, the clear drainage had dried light brown. I read that sometimes cats get yeast development because there's no fur in the area, but I wanted to know what other's thought.

Has this ever happened to you?

I have actually seen this type of drainage before many times.

It doesn't necessarily mean infection, what you will be watching for is reddened skin around the area, heat, swelling, pus type drainage, smell.

Not necessarily all of those but you will sorta just know if it is infected.

Just like a wound on yourself, you can just tell it's not looking right.

Where is the pic you posted?
