Hello Everyone :)

About me: I live in North Carolina, but I'm originally from Slovenia, Europe - where I would spend most of my time with my grandparents on a farm in the countryside. That's where my love and respect for all animals originated.

I have recently married and have now lived in the states for three years. I'm now in the process of getting a greencard - yay.

I guess being here and not making any close friends kinda forced me to get myself a kitty companion here, even though I have had the most awful luck with cats so far ...

MY awful cat history:

- The first cat I have ever gotten for myself (when I moved out of my parents house) was a pure bread beautiful white Maine coon. Since my mom's cat had feline AIDS (my mom, like me, is a sucker for animals and got her cat off the streets) and had been in and out of vet offices I was hesitant to get a cat at first. But, I had all of my Maine Coons his fancy paperwork, vaccines and he was neutered right before I got him home at age 6 months so I felt really good about him. I was instantly bonded and SOOOO in love with his always soft pawed, loving, purring, easy going nature.. Oh and the fact that he was so massive :)

Long story short - I honestly got a purebred to be sure of his medical history and to be responsible. One day out of the blue I noticed his balance was completely off as he jumped off a high counter and didn't land on his paws - I freaked and took him to the vet. Turns out my beautiful fancy gentle giant had a really fast progressing case of FIP (Feline Infectious Peritonitis) and had to be euthanized the very next day because of the amount of pain he was in. :( I was in complete shock... It broke my heart - this all happened just a month after I got him. The image of him just sitting in my lap purring and giving me headbutts before he had ''to go'' still haunts me.

- My second cat, I got a year after Indie had been put to sleep and my apartment had been thoroughly bleached and cleaned. I couldn't bare to have another cat after that ordeal so I fostered a bunch of kittens for a while. Of course I came across one that I couldn't see go away. She was a sweet grey tabby with a everlasting ''baby kitten face'' just an all-round face and just the sweetest friendliest face to look at. She too was a constant purring, loving lap cat. She could easily work as a therapy cat :) I had her since she was just a few days old, she had all her vet check-ups, vaccines, and was spayed very young as well .. My Lilly died at age 2 after loosing a battle with cancer.

After Lilly, I've been emotionally exhausted and I kind of gave up on the idea of having cats.. I had two of the sweetest, most loving cats die in a span of about 3 years.

MY present:

The lovely orange fuzz-ball in the pictures is my third cat, Mr. Milkies. He is the product of a sickly stray cat that a well meaning elderly lady was feeding and trying to take care of... And then that cat had kittens. Shelters were completely full and wouldn't take any cats or kittens in so.. I guess I couldn't help myself.. The lady was trying to help the older momma cat, but had no means to ''provide'' for the cats babies that were in need of a vet. So she started adopting them out.  I got him when he was 8 weeks old. Milky was absolutely COVERED in fleas. Since then he has been completely de-flead and has had all his shots and exams up to date. He will be 4 months old on the 11th of August and is scheduled to be neutered on his 6th month.I try and stay positive that nothing bad is going to happen to him since I must have a kitty curse on me or something. So far he's been doing great.. Maybe even too great as he ''tortures'' his new owner that has never owned or fostered a hyper-puss like him. :p (I will shortly post a HELP ME WITH MY CRAZY KITTEN, thread anyway...)  :)

But Honestly, I love mr. Milkies to death. He's cute and funny, but also super destructive and a VERY rough player.

I'm sure I can handle him with some proper advice from you guys :)

Much love to all fellow cat lovers!

- Kisses and yarn balls.

How old is he? I'm curious if your babies eyes are gonna turn out orange or green.
