Hi, My pebbles is due anytime now. I am having to keep her indoors as she loves the outside and worried she may give birth outside. i feel really harsh for keeping her in. also a male cat keeps hanging around which he is possibly the father of the kittens. is there any reason why he will be around? thanks

If they are apparently good friends, and she wants his company, you can allow it.  If you so wish and its convenient.  (of course, there is some risk for a new pregnancy, cats arent  protected by lactacing,  but that is next question).

A friendly male may sometimes be a as good support for a mom as her sister or mom whom are her pals.   May it be the biological father or just a friend.

If he is friends with her,  he is practically never a threat for the kittens, even if not biological father.

- But a hostile dominant male is not seldom a real threat for the kittens.  It is not a myth.

But if she is by any way bothered by him, irritaded or stressed, separate them at all costs.   Even if he isnt really hostile.

Good you keep her inside!

Good luck!

I feel really mean for keeping her in as she keeps looking around as if she wants to go outside! He is not my cat and I have other cats so I certainly wont be letting him come in lol. I hope she doesnt keep us waiting too long.
