Freckles had 2 teaspoons of coked beef this morning and didn't throw it up!  Tonight he'll have a full meal of pork since I know he'll eat that just fine.  I work tonight then have off until Thursday morning, so I'll be working on him and chicken again then.  He's still got the free kibble when he's locked up by himself, which is when I'm asleep or not here.

He ate a tablespoon of raw chicken thighs this morning!!
He's also running up to the door when he sees me walking up with his raw portion.  I feed him alone because he's a slow eater and he doesn't need competition for food right now.

That's awesome!
A tablespoon is a pretty decent amount considering he's snubbed it before.

I don't know what changed his mind, but I'm glad it did!  He ate almost a full meal of chicken tonight.

I've really been enjoying reading the details about Freckles' integration into your family and introduction to raw. Sounds like it's going really well!

Thanks!  He ate a full portion of raw chicken thighs this morning and had a full portion of beef for dinner.  I'm watching to see if he throws up...

He was underneath the couch when I came home (before feeding them), and his tail was sticking out from beneath the couch.  Julie walked up and licked his tail!  He pulled the tail under immediately, but at least she's trying!

Freckles is on 100% raw now, and didn't throw up the beef he had the other night.  He's also with my cats full time now.  He still gets scared and cowers when I walk too fast or make noises that scare him, but I can't tip toe forever.  I'm just going to give him more time.  He's got a follow up visit the 27th, I'm hoping he gets a good check up.

Thanks everybody, especially for the advice/support!  I'm so proud of all of them (even crazy Julie) for integrating so well and that Freckles decided that chicken is pretty tasty.  And yeah, I did not expect that the integration would happen so soon.

I'm going to talk to the vet again about his eye and get some pictures.

I just wanted to pop in and say that one of my kitties has a freckle on her iris, but that she is totally fine and it is nothing to worry about (says the vet). So they can be totally benign!

Good to hear Freckles is doing so well!

He weighed 8 lbs, 8 oz on 8-6-14, today on 8-27-14 he weighed 9 lbs 1 oz.  I hoped for a little more weight, but the vet was really happy with the progress.  He got his boosters and a microchip today.  No fleas, so no flea meds for him or my other kitties.

I've noticed there is a difference in the pupils of each eye, and so did the vet.  The right eye (the affected one) is more dilated than the left one.  He is referring me to an eye specialist in Jacksonville FL.  I'll let everyone know when the appt is as soon as I get one.  We're hoping it is benign, but the vet wants another opinion.  And if he wants one, I want one.  These spots look like little balls that protrude out from the iris, rather than something different in color within the iris, if that makes sense.

LOL, he did ask me questions today about IBS (my other cats, but I'm not ruling Freckles out) and the raw diet.  He asked what I all tried first, but was glad that I had them on raw instead of drugs.  He likes that my cats are on raw and wishes his other clients were on raw, and loves the fact I got Freckles on raw.  He even commented that he knows I wanted more weight on him but made the point to say that the diet I'm feeding is "what they are supposed to eat" and that he put on muscle, not fat.  Her IS playing more now, bunny-kicking, running, chirping, and this morning I saw him looking up the cat tree.  So he IS better, I just wanted more lbs on the scale.  I'm probably just being impatient.

This is a great update! 9lb 1ozmay not seem like much, but an improvement is an improvement.

Eye appointment is 9-11.  I have to admit that I'm scared after the reading I did last night.  I'm trying to think positive though.
