Hello to everyone!  I decided it was about time to register here and introduce myself.  I've been using this forum for many many months and decided it was finally time to say hi and thank you for the knowledge that is available here.  Its helped me so much.  I recently lost my DLH baby at 7yrs old to liver failure about 3 months ago. I had her since see was a small kitten.  Some very uncaring people dropped off a box of kittens during the night at my vets office.  I was there on appointment with one of my dogs and I fell in love with her and told them she was mine! It was heart breaking to lose her at only 7.  She went dowhill so suddenly and so quickly I barely had time to blink an eye.  She passed away 5 days after the first noticeable symptom appeared.  She was one of those special and very unique type of cats that you come across.  She was so loving and affectionate beyond anything I've seen in a cat, my shadow, who showered me with kisses constantly (literally too, she loved licking).  She loved everyone in the house but her bond was with me and anyone coming into the home for the first time could see it.

So after I gave myself time to grieve the loss I decided it was time to consider a new baby.  Being that she was the only animal in the home I had a hard time dealing with her absence.  I needed a new kitty to shower with all the love I wasnt able to give ( I have no children so these are my babies).  So the search began, and after much consideration I decided I wanted to get a kitten from a breeder.  The vet mentioned what happened with her could of been a genetic issue. I'm still so scarred from losing my girl that it put me in a huge fear state of getting a kitten with an unknown history.  I decided on a Siamese because of their personality traits and how similar they are to my girl.  After a month or so here I am with a beautiful little boy who just turned 4 months on August 2nd.  He's a blue point, neutured, modern Siamese.  I adore him so much already and he's only been with me for 6 days.

After endless thought and research till my eyes hurt, I decided to feed raw.  Big thank you to everyone here for that as well, much of my researching was in your raw diet section which has helped me a lot in making the decision.  Luckily with him being young he took to it right away with no fuss.  Right now I'm doing the Alnutrin mix with raw chicken thighs/liver.  No grinder just yet so Ive been chopping it up and he loves it.  Second day on it and he's already picking around the canned food I mix in with it, to help transition.

So thats my story.  Huge thank you to everyone here who has unknowingly helped me and I'm happy to now be apart of this community.

My Mila.  Love you baby, RIP.

My Loki.  Squinting from the flash but being handsome as ever.

Oh, what a story.  I'm so sorry for the loss of your Mila.  It is a shock when they go so suddenly, I know.

And lucky Loki, I can tell he will be a very spoiled baby!
