Coughing after first vaccination

I got my three month old kitten from a shelter and took her directly to a vet for vaccination where she was given a shot. It's been two days since vaccination. She was very calm and weak the first day and slept for most of the day but she was feeding on dry food properly. Then when she started to come out of it and being active again she started coughing. It's not severe but I feel bad for the poor thing. Is it normal as post vaccine side effect for cats to cough?

I'm guessing that is Modified Live Virus and if so that is the kind of vaccine you want to go with. I recommend PureVax if it's available in your country.

Because it is a live virus it can present the symptoms associated with the viruses you are trying to prevent. Not feeling the best a few days after a shot is very common. I would give her a couple more days and if she isn't acting like her normal self, I'd give your vet a call.

Thank you for your reply. She's becoming more active with less coughing than the first few days. I'll keep an eye on her for a couple more days and if it persists I will take her back for check up.
