They appear to be domestic short hairs although the white one may be a a medium hair, but no specific breed.  Males have testicles, females don't.  If that isn't enough help try taking a photos of their parts and we can help you.  Are they fixed yet?  It's very important that they become fixed so as to prevent kittens and future medical and behavioral issues in the adults.  They're very cute!

Fixed, as in...have they been spayed/neutered yet. At their age, it should be very obvious whether they are male/female.
If they are both intact and you do have one of each gender, you will end up with kittens sooner, rather than later.

What beautiful cats :rbheart:

Yes they are domestics longhairs (non pedigrees). Their coat length is going to be more medium/semi longhair. Not as long as a Persians coat more like a Ragdoll type length.

The vast majority of cats are domestic's and very few of them are mixes of pedigrees. Most of them don't have any pedigree ancestors at all, in fact very, very few have any pedigree breeds anywhere behind them.

You see the domestic (non pedigree ) cat population did not result from pedigree breeds being mixed together, like in the dog world. Actually it is quite the opposite. Domestic cats were here long before pedigree cat breeds existed - pedigree breeds of cat were created from the domestic cat population for a certain look or trait, not the other way around.

So glad to hear you are going to get them spayed and neutered soon. Although the idea of having kittens sounds lovely - the reality is far different.

Females cats are fast breeders, they can get pregnant again in as little as two weeks after giving birth and again and again. Then you pretty much end up with more kitten than you know what to do with - this also shortens you females cats life, giving birth and raising a litter really takes it out of them and with no time to rest or get back into shape before the next litter is born is really bad for their health.

Male cats that have not been neutered spray everything they can ( mark everything with urine ) Inside your home and outside your home, so your whole property smells of cat pee. They fight with all other males and get very badly injured - meaning expensive vet bills. The get nasty and attack if they don't have enough females to meet their demand. They will also wander off and most likely never come back in their search for more females. Their hormones over ride anything they do and all they will think of is finding more females to satisfy their needs.

Yes, it is possible to spay and abort a pregnancy, though it makes surgery a bit more complicated. Low-cost spay/neuter clinics might not perform the surgery and the surgery will cost a bit more.

It also depends on how far along the pregnancy is. Some vets won't due surgery if the cat is far enough along.

If you suspect one of your cats is pregnant and do not want kittens, you need to get her to a vet soon. The longer the pregnancy goes, the more difficult surgery can become.

Yes, exactly.   If it isnt obious she is preg, its not that late, so no big difficulties with the surgery...  An experienced vet surgeon can take them quite late too, but its not pleasant for anybody.  Better to take the spaying / abortion earlier on.  As you do.   But you ARE in a hurry now.

One  comforting fact.   Human children may survive after 6 of the 9 months.  Sometimes even earlier, in a good enough hospital.

Not so cat kittens.  They dont manage too early delivery nor cesarean.   Maximum 3 days too early, is what they can manage.  So cats must have at least 81/2 of the 9 weeks to have any real chance of surviving.

Good luck with the spaying - and also the neutering of the male...   Both are very pretty!

Btw, your question  Sometimes the gender isnt apparent even for decently  experienced cat people.  I know stories of more than one Peter, where the mistake become apparent when they did had a couple of kittens...  And thus, thereafter they were known as Petra.

The white one is almost certainly a mainecoone mix or a darn good look alike. It even has the face shape and muzzle, tail and heavy fur of a mainecoone.
