Hello everyone :) I wanted to ask a question for my friend Omar. He has a kitten that loves supplementary food and he has recently found these cat flakes that say they make supplementary food complete. I am still skeptical about it and I don't think it will make supplementary food 100% complete. I think it is more like it will give cats a little extra vitamins and minerals. But I'm not 100% sure myself, so I don't want to make any assumptions :) So I was wondering, will Gimpet Vitamin Flakes and Gimpet Vitamin Flakes for kittens make Supplementary food like Almo Nature, Applaws, or schesir complete?

If it works, I would love to give it a try for my cat ha ha :)

From what I can find on Gimpet Vitamin Flakes on the zooplus site, it provides vitamins B1 and B2 and taurine. I don't see how those alone are enough to make supplemental foods complete. I'm not familiar enough with the supplemental foods that you mentioned to know if those are the specific things missing, but I would guess that different supplemental foods have different reasons for why they are not complete. I can't imagine how Gimpet alone would be enough to make all those foods complete. I also don't see anywhere where the product claims that, so I'm not sure where your friend is getting his information.

YAY Thank you so much for replying :) I was worried no one would. Thank you for your opinion. I was worried also that it wouldn't be enough to make a supplementary food complete, but I wasn't sure :) I also think it can't make every supplementary food complete since each one is missing something different. My friend was told it makes supplementary food complete by a pet store worker.

What's in the supplementary foods?  Is it just meat?  Meat and lover?  Meat and a few vitamins?  Just like balancing raw (which you're familiar with), meat needs to be balanced with liver, a calcium source, taurine, and etc depending on if ground or not.  A couple of B vitamins and taurine added to just meat would leave a cat open for deficiencies.  You could give it as a treat though.

Schesir for example has vitamin A, D3, E, taurine, zinc, potassium, manganese, iron and copper and is a complementary food + the meat of course. The other brands are just meat and the flakes also provide vitamins A,D3 and , E+ phosphor, calcium and also fat and protein..so would that still not be enough if you add it to Schesir for example?
