Has anyone tried using biosuperfood on their ibd cats?  Our cat has had ibd for a few years now and we have seen improvement but she still slides into bad times whenever something slightly wrong happens (like we run out of the right food and she has a day with something else).

Anyway, I'd like to take her to the next level and actually heal and cure the gut.  The folks that sell the biosuperfood say that, while they can't guarantee a cure, they have seen it happen.  It is a fresh idea so I was thinking about trying it but I"m concerned it might throw her into a downslide again.

Has anyone had experience with this?

Yes, I have. Here is where I documented my experience: http://www.thecatsite.com/t/270235/bio-algae-concentrates-bacs-spirulina-etc

My personal opinion, based on close observation, is that it sent my Sebastian into a flare of his pancreatitis. While I do not discount that this product has worked for some cats, I believe that it acted as an immuno-stimulant on Sebastian and sent his system into overdrive and thus starting the inflammation nightmare. I had to discontinue it.

The folks that sell BioSuperfood have great things to say, but even their own cat has relapsed on this product (http://auld-louie.net/?p=190). It is not a cure, unfortunately.

Thank you. Very helpful. The issue you ran into is exactly what I was afraid of. So many of these companies say that their products can help ibd cats without really considering the fact that an extra strong immune system doesn't help an ibd cat.

I think I'll just add some l-glutamine, folic acid and omega 3 to the regimen and see if that helps.

So frustrating. It seems to me that the gut should be able to rebuild itself. Maybe it is just a very slow process. We're also going to have her checked for possible pancreatitis and see if that is why she keeps having "dips".

thanks again - just the kind of info I was looking for.
