I got some pepsid (actually it was the store generic) 10 mg.  Our Vet suggested it a while back but we tried changing food and a few other things first to see if it was an allergy to something.  In any event, my husband thought I said he could have 1/2 of the 10 mg. pill and that is what he gave him.  I have been reading posts only to find that everyone is giving 1/4 of the 10 mg. pill.  Should I be concerned?  Some people are dispensing 1/4 pill twice a day so the dosage amount is the same, but will it hurt him to have it all at one time.  We have 3 other cats and their hard cat food stays out all day so there's no way to plan on giving his pill before he eats.  He seems to eat little bits all day long.  Thanks  for any input.

Was your cat throwing up before the pepcid?  I would want to make sure the right cat is getting the right meds, and 1/4 of a 10mg pill is standard.  Have you tried pill pockets?

What's the underlying issue with your kitty?  Have you tried a restricted diet food or any prescription foods?  How old is she?  Did you have bloodwork done to test kidneys and other values?

Our vet had us give our cat 5mg in one dose. So I wouldn't worry about it. If your cat is vomiting heavily cerenia is helpful as well

Problem is Pepcid is very bitter. You can't just throw it into there kibble and expect him to eat it. You either have to use pill pockets or drop it down his throat.
