My cat's birthday is coming up and I wanted to make him a little cupcake made out of raw meat or something. What would be a good idea? Would raw chicken breast and liver from the store be ok? Anyone have any good ideas?

does your boy eat raw food/a raw diet usually? has he ever eaten any raw meat/poultry before? i'm asking because i've read that it can take cats a bit of time to get used to, adjust to eating raw foods. and cats can be...hesitant...to eat foods that are unfamiliar to them.

@LDG, @mschauer -- may i ask for your thoughts for the OP (original poster)?

When I first found him, I had no food to feed him so I gave him some lightly boiled chicken breast cut up in cubes (thet were originally frozen and I he needed to warm up because he was on the verge of hypothermia) I didn't know how to prepare food for cats at the time but he very willingly ate through all of it.

If he is on a raw diet, the chicken and liver sounds okay, perhaps with a sardine packed in water no salt added.
If not, I wouldn't feed him liver. Maybe lightly broiled (no seasoning, no bone!) Chicken. Or a high end canned cat food with similar ingredients to what your normally feed.

@VincentTheCat, i really like @Ritz's idea of some lightly broiled chicken, maybe with a sardine (packed in water, no salt added). you could form the chicken into a little cupcake form and lay the sardine over the top.

when is your cat's birthday?

BTW, I had the same idea on Ritz' first anniversary of when I adopted her (she and her litter mates were dumped/abandoned so unknown birthday).
So I thought and thought about it, and ended up getting her some special cooked plain shrimp. This was when she was addicted to fishand would only eat Fancy Feast Classic seafood. I presented the fish to her on a special dish. Probably sung "Happy Gotcha Day." She definitely thought I was crazy.
She didn't touch the food ....

I have his birthday set on the 8/12 because my birthday is 1/12 and my boyfriend's birthday is 5/12. Vincent was only ESTIMATED to be 5 months old when I found him so it's probably not exactly right but I'll never forget it hehe.

My friend trapped Ritz and her litter mates on December 26. I'd never been around cats before and felt 'obligated' to help my friend socialize them (she had the experience and room).
Best. Christmas. Present. Ever.

my mickey and snick's actual birth date isn't known, but i chose 8/1 as their birthday and it's close to what their actual date would be.
