So not too long ago, actually - arounddddd July 27th or so, my grandparents adopted me a cat! He's a five month old kitten named Mittens >_< I hated his name, due to it being a ryhme. So grandma and I shortened it to Mitt. Then, I started jokingly calling him Romney-Cat. (Yes, just as such.)

His picture is my avatar but to get a better look at em' here ya go.

I love him so much! It was a total surprise! I was NOT expecting him at all! There was a stray cat that came into my grandparents yard one day and I started feeding him and they suddenly surprised me with Romney-Cat! xD I was so happy afterwards.

So, he's not eating gorumet. He gets tablescraps, Friskies Canned Food & Fancy Feast Dry food. That's why I kinda want him to go over to my house or move in with me (when I'm older) ASAP and that way I can change him over to a healthier food. It's just my grandparents cant afford a more expensive grain-free low-fat diet. (It's probably gonna be Halo Spot's Stew that he'll be on, like my dogs are on that.)

Do you have any suggestions for products - that I can use on Romi for my dad's allergies? Maybe if we use like cat wipes for allergies and keep a filter around the house, he might agree to it. My grandparents dog Copper doesnt care about him. He's too old to know what he is.

He's too old to know what I am!

Anyway, my dad refuses to get shots or take medication by the way. So I hope you can find something that will help Romi live with us sooner (I dont want to wait until 'something happens to my grandparents' to where we HAVE to take the cat, because if we HAVE to take the cat because they are unable to care for it we will ; / )

Thanks and I'm awaiting your responses ^_^

He is so cute! I like orange tabbies! he is going to be a handsome cat when he grow up.

I also don't have to much choices of healthy food my cats because I live in China and here the only available brand is whiskas .

I suffer of allergies too and sorry to tell you that there isn't a way to totally scape from the allergy. Try not letting the kitten in your dad's room and keep the floor as clean as possible, it helped me a lot.

He's a beautiful kitten, I love his name too.

You don't have to worry about feeding him really expensive food. A a general rule, wet food is better than dry so whatever you can afford and he likes will be fine for now. If he gets table scraps be careful not to let him have anything that contains garlic, as this is dangerous for cats. Nothing salty either. Cooked bones are also really dangerous as they can splinter and get stuck in his throat so avoid these at all costs.

Did you grandparents adopt him from a shelter? Lots of shelter cats have already had their first shots, so check to see if he's been vaccinated yet. If not, check out the vets in your area to see if any offer a cheap package that includes neutering and shots. Getting him neutered will prevent a lot of problems such as aggression, spraying urine in the house, fighting and running off in search of girl cats. You need to get him neutered even if you can't afford to do anything else for him.

(I was a bit late getting my male kittens neutered last year and it was an absolute nightmare.
)

As for allergies, a daily brushing to get rid of and loose hair will help a lot. Vacuum up any  hair that has been shed daily. (I vacuum about three times a day, but I have a lot of cats.) You could also make sure that he stays out of you Dad's room. Lots of people have a cat room with bed. toys, litter box and a cat tree in it. Most cats are pretty happy with their own room and it will mean less shed hair lying around to bother your dad.

Good luck with your new kitten. I'm looking forward to seeing more pictures of him as he grows up.
