Honestly, I am the last person to ask. I had contractions so long ago that I don't remember anything but that I had them for what seemed endless to me before they did a c-section. I don't think 30 minutes is time to go to the hospital, I believe it is when they are 10 minutes apart you go? I don't know though, pure guessing on my part.
Depends on a lot of things...one of which is if this is a first time non-c/section birth then it's as if she's a primipara, and it can take a couple of days...factors that figure in are the babies position (the rotation of the head) and what station - how low the babies head is (re applying pressure to help dilate the cervix), if the membranes around the baby have ruptured yet or not,....being 2 cms and every 30 minutes, is very early.

Hopefully later today we'll hear she's at the hospital
and a good 3-4 cms...then maybe within 12-18 hours she'll have delivered

Or she can have a wonderfully quick time of it and be done later this morning!

Gosh people, you're so funny
Now I feel like there are so many people here waiting for me

Thanks for the good wishes everyone! As you can see I snuck over to the computer - got tired of lying in bed. The contractions have grown further apart instead of closer apart, so who knows? My doctor is very confident that I'm "cooking something" for this weekend. The conrtactions that I did have sure felt stronger and more painful, but they're really regular enough yet. We need to wait until we have them 10 minutes apart for at least an hour. Then we go to the hospital.

It's really silly, the reason I'm told to lie down and not let the labour progress too fast is because my doctor will have more time to deliver this baby during the weekend. Of course, we can always go to the hospital and have whomever is there deliver, but we want to go private with my OB, whom we trust and like, so we prefer to hold on and wait for a bit more.

I am getting very impatient with lying and waiting though. Hubby is driving me crazy with wanting to practice breathing and basically what I do is some cross stitch and answer phone calls from family members who've heard the news that I went into labor. It's a bit embarassing really to let everyone down and not pant and scream down the phone

At least Ron's much better now. He was sick through out the week with a high temperature. Though the doctor still isn't sure what he had, looks like it was something bacterial and that the antibiotics he's taking is working. He's such a sweet little boy and keeps me great company, though I can tell he feels there's something in the air. We shared the news with him, told him the dr said that his little brother is about to come out. He seems fairly happy about it - but he's had a major nightmare last night which I bet is his way of expressing the fear he's feeling.

Well, I can't stay for long. Not having contractions but I am having constant cramps and pains in my lower abdomen and my lower back which make it very uncomfortable to sit by the computer for very long. I will keep you all posted and I'll be sure to phone Mary Anne and let you all know if we have any dramatic news

Thanks again everyone for all your positive energy and good thoughts - they are very much appreciated!

Darn! I saw Anne's name and hoped it meant news! That's devoted to come on here during a time like this.

Sending warm fuzzies (we're starting fertility exams to get into the same condition).

That's funny!

I'm sure this little one will arrive when he's good and ready! But I bet he's going to be a very demanding child. Look at how he's commanding attention already!

Come one little one, there are too many people waiting to celebrate your arrival!

Contractions at 10 minutes apart- Issac just messaged me if they continue in that time span they will go to the hospital.

I have a feeling this is going to turn out to be an emotional yo-yo type of thread - but I told you guys I would keep you updated.

Current time in Israel 8:48 p.m. want to start to guess when the baby will arrive? LOL
