Happy Saturday everyone!

Do you enjoy talking on the phone?

I dislike talking on the phone to strangers. I usually do everything I can to avoid talking on the phone, or put it off as long as possible. Half the time people can't understand what I'm saying, I can't understand what they're saying, or both. It usually ends up an embarrassing exchange of "Sorry, can you repeat that?"

Sometimes I would rather spend 10 minutes driving to a place of business to ask about a bunch of things, rather than pick up the phone to ask one question.
I never answer calls from unknown numbers that I am not expecting, preferring to listen to voicemail instead to see who they are and what they want. If I had things my way, my voicemail would say, "Please hang up and text me."

I hate talking on the phone!

The only person I used to talk to on the phone was one of my best friends in elementary school. We were on the phone for like six hours straight as our record, and I used to call her at 6am so we could watch Sailor Moon "together".
Those days are long gone, and now we text, message, Skype, email, or meet up in person (now that we both have cars...). I use my cell as my primary number now so I prefer not to talk because I'm on prepaid and minutes are expensive, so if I can get people to Skype call or text me, that's really the preferred route. I prefer seeing and hearing them rather than just holding the phone up to my ear.

I answer the phone at work maybe once every 3 days because we seldom get calls there, but another department's phone is ringing off the hook some days. I don't ever want to answer it for them either, hahaha.

I love talking to my best friend on the telephone. I do not own a cellular telephone, and neither does anyone else I know. Its very relaxing to curl up on the sofa with my knitting and my cats and have a good chat. I have a beautiful rotary telephone from 1957 which is very comfortable and has great sound.

I don't like talking on the phone, but I like it much better than video chats. Texting is okay as long as I can peck out a short answer, otherwise I text "calling you."

It depends on who I'm talking with.  Some people are time sucks.  I have 2 siblings, whom I love dearly, that I just can't stand talking to on the phone with.  My 3rd one, I enjoy the conversations enormously.  I love talking to friends from college/childhood that I haven't spoken to in a while to play catch up but, wouldn't want to be talking to them daily or even weekly via phone.

And I want it on my own terms.  If I'm not in the mood, I won't answer.  I'd rather call back when I'm feeling more chatty.  That happens more than not.

I really only talk on the phone for a long period of time (and by that I mean maybe 20 minutes tops) to my parents. I live far away from home now so they call me or I call them every other weekend.

I am the same way. as I get older, & busier, I don't want to spend my down time talking on the phone. Except for w/ my mom, we talk often. In fact if she doesn't hear from me in a few days, she will call to make

sure everything is o.k.   I don't mind talking to old, long time friends, to catch up, but as you said, I have to be in the mood to chat.  I like to text as well, but if it gets to lengthy, than it is better to just call like Swamp Witch said. I'm not trying to text a long conversation. It's just faster to pick up the phone at that point.

I like you. We can be friends.  We just can't talk

I hate talking on phone unless I just want to ask a few questions and need answer then and there.  I MUCH rather email and be able to not be tied up.  I have a very short attention span as does my sister so those conversations can last hour or 2 or random topics.

Like most everyone else, I'd rather text or email than talk.

I would also rather text or email.  I am older so I remember what it what like before texting or even email and even then I didn't like talking on the phone.

...with the cats...
i enjoy talking on the phone sometimes. my best friend and i talk every couple days or so, and we can chat for an hour or longer. and i call my mom once each week and we talk about 20-30 minutes each time. other than those two people, i usually talk with contractors or the town building dept on a more frequent basis.

i do let my answering machine take all other calls, and if it's a phone number i don't know or an unlisted number they can leave a message -- which they never do. i figure if it was important, then they'd leave a message.

if i'm busy doing things, which very often is so, i don't answer the phone.

I hate talking on the phone. The only person I ever really "talk" to is my best friend when she calls me. It ends up being a lot of dead air or conversations about basically nothing. I'd rather get together or text.

I think it's easy for people to dislike phone conversations in this day and age of emails and texts!

I am not a fan of talking on the phone, I'd rather text. But I do pick up the phone to call my mom and grandmother. I'd love to talk to my sister, but with her 3 kids, it's impossible to talk to her. Texting is just more convenient.

It's not that I don't like to connect with people. I much, much rather go over and talk face-to-face than on the phone. People misunderstand me much less often face-to-face than they do on the phone, and vice versa.

I have Social Anxiety. Phone, texting, in person, but not so much in a written letter or message boards or Facebook.

My worst social anxiety is out of my house. Sadly my oldest son has it too :(
I use to be really outgoing.... but as I get older it gets worse.

I hate talking on the phone and only do it when it's absolutely necessary. One problem is that I'm hard of hearing, and the other is that I have a strong American acccent when speaking German, so misunderstandings are inevitable.

I hardly ever talk on the phone.

i work online as a language teacher so I often spend 8 hours a day talking to students on Skype.

It makes my head buzz, the last thing I want to do after work is talk into a phone.
