Hello all. Skittles was taken to the vet due to non eating. They ran blood, urine and leukemia. All tests came back fine. Vet said she is slightly overweight by 1-2 pounds. it has been 2 days sine her vet visit and she still hasn't eaten or been seen drinking anything. I have tried various foods even kitten milk. I force fed her some liquefied food which she promptly vomited back up. She was given an appetite stimulant the day she was at the vet. I am lost and scared right now. Lost her mother to liver issues 1 month ago and don't want to go through that again. Any suggestions?

p.s. I have tried pheromone sprays, catnip in her food, tuna water, parmesean cheese mixed with food, some cooked chicken breast.

Did the vet give her anything for nausea?  If not I would take her back today for something for the nausea.  Cerenia works well for cats even though I think it is still off label use for kitties.  The vet can give her a shot to get started and then pills can be given at home.  Normally it can be given for 5 days before a break.

thanks for replying. just spoke to the vet and he doesn't want to give anti nausea as of yet. I have an appointment for x-rays in a few hours. So ill stress until then. I still haven't recovered from losing the mama cat last month and my credit cards are maxxed out. The things we do for our kids (cats)....

I find it very frustrating that my 5 babies eat better then most people I know and they always seem to get sick. When I was young we always fed our cats meow mix hard food with no complications. It seems like now I am taking someone to the vet every other month. It is very draining mentally, emotionally, financially and physically.

ok... vet just called me back. She has an UTI so we are taking her in for antibiotics.  Grrrrr, I yelled at them and asked why they didn't check all the results before giving them to me.

So, does having a UTI make you not want to eat?

Will it cause you to vomit?

Btw, when I type you I mean the kitty.

Yes, if a UTI is bad enough, it will cause them not to want to eat and possibly vomit. But if she's not keeping anything down, this concerns me. And, of course, not eating for two days is very dangerous. Cats can go into fatty liver disease when they go too long without eating. Is she eating today?
