I'm excited about seeing this. Rick gave me the Starz channel for August and September, so that I can watch the first eight episodes. The Outlander series is my favorite book series bar none and I can't wait to see if they do justice to the first book. The first eight episodes will be shown this year, with the remaining eight shown early next year. 

I've not really heard or seen much of either of the actors, Caitriona Balfe and Sam Heughan  (who are playing Claire and Jamie), so I have to reserve judgement, I guess, until I start to watch the show. The one thing that has always stuck in my mind is Jamie's red hair (which will be missing) and I know that it has been mentioned so many times in the books.

We'll see. Will anybody else be watching Outlander?

Real Men Wear Kilts!

Just watched the first episode of Outlander on On Demand. I am so hooked. And I'll still watch it again on Saturday.

Evidently they want to make sure that enough people can see the first episode; it's on On Demand for free.

When we first called about adding Starz to our cable, when the woman found out we only wanted it for August and September, she said, "Outlander! It's for Outlander, isn't it?" Evidently a lot of people have added Starz just for two months.

I watched it last night while Rick was in his bowling meeting. I really like it.

I've never read the book, but my niece gave me the outline of it. Sounds very interesting story line.

It's quite good, Kathy, and so far, I am pleased with how the show is staying fairly true to the book. Fairly true.....there are a few details, but overall they're doing a good job. 

But, of course,it's really overkill. Between Starz and Encore, Outlander is showing every night. Episode 3 starts this Saturday.
