Hey guys :) I just wanted to update you all on Mew's progress. It's been a super long journey trying to get this cat to eat wet food that is grain-free and good quality. I've tried about 7-8 different brands and ALL of them were rejected instantly. I know it's my fault since for 7 years of his life, I let him eat junk food every day like Meow Mix and Fancy Feast since I didn't know how bad it was :( Half a year later of research and a lot of money spend trying to find something Mew would eat, I finally found some brands he would eat! It is such a relief to have a nice rotation set up for him and to actually see him cleaning his bowl instead of taking one sniff and walking away :)! I tried Thrive Complete from a recommendation of a member here and Mew loved it instanly! I also bought the Bozita TerraPaks and Applaws Pate to try. Mew really hates Pate foods, but I thought I would try Applaws Pate since he loves Applaws. He enjoyed the Applaws Pate which is amazing since I've never seen him eat so much of a Pate food on his own! I gave him Bozita Skin and hair today and he absolutely went crazy for it :) He really loves the Chunks.

So in my rotation, I got Thrive Complete, Bozita TerraPak, and Applaws Pate. Thrive Complete is a little pricey, so I feed him one can of it in the evening and Bozita or Applaws in the morning. I also leave out Applaws dry food for him to eat all day which he absolutely loves. I know a lot of people discourage dry food, but I don't think a little of it will harm him, especially when he his diet mostly consist of wet food :) He loves his kibble and is pretty addicted to it. He will try to starve himself if there is no dry food available. :( I figure it's hard for him to adjust without it since he is 8 years old and he's had it most of his life. I know it's more difficult for older cats to adjust to new changes. But I'm just happy he's happy and mostly importantly, he's actually eating all the wet food I put down at each meal :)! I haven't seen him eat everything in his bowl since he was eating Meow Mix and Fancy Feast. So I'm extremely happy and I don't mind if he has a little kibble. So much stress has been relieved to have foods he actualy enjoys :)

That's great.  Glad to hear your kitty is eating and doing well.  Transitioning to new foods is not always easy.

Thank you :) it really is such a relief. You have no idea how difficult it was! I bought 7 other brands and they were all rejected!

Congrats on finding things he'll eat.

I have spent a small wheelbarrow full of money trying to get my 3 to eat canned.  Still working on it.

Congrats on your success! I'm going through the transition with my recently adopted 6 year old Momo. He was fed primarily Halo dry a his shelter and Triumph wet (though I'm sure they fed primarily dry). The shelter gave me a can of Triumph when I brought him home and he just turned his nose on it, which further confirmed he wasn't too exposed to wet food there. I started off easy with Fancy Feast Classic and Sheba cuts. I was happy to see that he ate them no problem, but his appeal for wet lowers when the leftovers are refrigerated. With some hot water and a quick run in the microwave he'll eat it, though for the most part doesn't finish it and end up crying at night because he's hungry. So I've tweeked his feeding schedule to giving him some kibble before I go to sleep. I'm going to get some more higher end wet this weekend and see how that goes.

Thank you :) I never thought I would be able to find food he enjoy's. He is such a picky cat. I know what you mean about spending a small wheelbarrow full of money trying to get your cats to get their food. They can really be crazy sometimes! I wish you success with your cats :) I hope you will be able to get them to eat their wet food soon. I know it's a challenge.

Thank you :) I appreciate your support. That's really a shame Momo refused the can of Triumph right off the bat. It really does prove that he was really only eating dry food or that it might take him a while to adjust to the new environment. But I take it he ate the dry food without any problem right? So that's so, then it proves he was only eating dry. It's sad because a lot of shelter's are low on money and can only afford to feed the cats dry food since they have so many which I understand. But it really isn't the best food for them unfortunately. My cat also loved Fancy Feast and the brand Meow Mix when I first got him. He mostly ate Meow Mix. When we moved to the Netherlands, it was really difficult for him to adjust without his Meow mix since that's all he has been eating for most of his life and they don't have anything similar here. But it is for the best since I later learned that food is one of the worst for a cat :( It's good you started off with Fancy Feast Classic and Sheba cuts.I know a lot of cats love those types and don't have much problem eating them :) I'm glad you also found a way to get him to eat his leftovers! I've never had a problem with leftovers if Mew likes the food, but I know some cats can be fussy. It's silly Momo cries for food at night because he's hungry even though he has wet food available. But I understand, it really is difficult to get kibble addicts off it. I also couldn't get Mew off it since he did the samething. But I figured a little bit wouldn't hurt him as long as he's good quality wet food :) Good luck with the new wet food! I really hope it goes well. Testing a few different brand/flavors is always the smartest option. Be careful not to buy to much or in bulk since it could go to waste if he doesn't like it. That happened a lot to with my cat. :( But yeah it's crazy. We can buy the best quality food and spend a lot of money on our cats, but they also have to like the food too or they will refuse to eat it.

Congratulations on finding foods he'll eat!:clap::clap: I missed the fact that Applaws had put a complete paté on the market - that's a great find!

It would be a big help if zooplus showed the actual food, rather than just the packaging. I'm lucky that Mogli isn't picky about consistency, though that food isn't suitable for him because of the chicken.

Yes I wish Zooplus also showed the pictures and not just the package :( You're lucky Mogli isn't picky about texture :p I swear, Mew is one of the pickiest cats ever! XD He won't eat any Pate in the world beside the Applaws one for some reason. Yeah unfortunately every flavor has some chicken in it :(

Yeah it is similar to ground beef! :p
It does look good .There is one supplier that I know of here in the US that sells it . I really wanted to try for my cats  but it is very expensive  here .  About $15.00 for 8    2 1/2  oz  cans  .. I could never afford that ... I don't know why cat food has to so expensive ..
