So I took in some stray cats from the outside. They haven't been dewormed yet, and I hadn't really let my cats that I own go downstairs often to prevent them from catching anything. However, I did let my cat go downstairs once or twice, and when I had gone upstairs and came back down I noticed my cat had used their liter box. I try to keep it as clean as possible but I'm sure there's always a little bit of yuckiness in the litter box. My mother noticed a piece of poop on the floor before, and when she went to dump it in the toilet she thought it looked like there were white things all in it. It may be nothing, and I'm gonna still contact my vet, but maybe some of you have seen tapeworm segments. The white things in my cats poop didn't really look like rice grains. There were smaller. Here is a picture. Warning it is a picture of my cats poop. Check it out if you think you might know what to look for.

I suggest taking the sample to a vet to confirm- and if it is, they can prescribe something. They will want to see the cat too, which I do urge you to being him in since he's a stray

Most likely.  The overwhelming majority of cats who live outside come with both tapeworms (from fleas) and intestinal parasites (hookworms and roundworms).  You need to get the kitty to the vet for a deworming and also tapeworm treatment.  Tapeworms are not treated with the regular deworming medication and require a special little pill.  Also, they will probably need to be treated for fleas.

Sorry. I think my post was a little confusing. I own 3 cats already, the strays were downstairs. One of my cats went downstairs. I didn't even think of reminding my mom to keep the sample. I know the kittens had fleas though. So possibly tapeworm. The vet may be able to tell from the picture I'm hoping. We'll have to get the mothers and kittens dewormed, and I won't be allowing my cats down there any more until everyone is healthy.

So a little update. Still gonna show the picture to the vet, although he may jump the gun and just assume they def are worm eggs, but maybe not. I asked my mom where she found the poop and it was in an area where it looks like crumbs were on the floor. I think that might actually be what it is. My upstairs cats don't have fleas, and I doubt my cat ate a flea. Will definetly treat the downstairs cats with tapeworm medicine though, since the mothers were outside, and they did and might still have fleas. On a side note I think advangtage might work better, as I used frontline and I've read from other people that frontline doesn't seem to work like it used to.
