Snick's 14th birthday!

today we're celebrating my snick's 14th birthday. a very happy occasion, but sad too because it was also our mickey's (snick's brother, litter mate) birthday and we continue to miss him very much.

here are some pics of snick enjoying her birthday gifts.........


the sisal mat has a zipper on the back of it, and i sprinkled some catnip inside the mat -- under the sisal top part and above the non-skid bottom material.

here, snick is rubbing her cheek on the mat...i'm pretty sure she could smell the catnip.


that large stuffed toy is supposed to be a rat, but i prefer to think of it as a (very) large mouse.........and so we're naming it "super mousie".


in this pic, she's torn between wanting to stay on her sisal mat and with her birthday loot, or going out to the front sunroom to smell the fresh air and lay in the sunshine.


snick did go out the the front sunroom, but has been back to her birthday gifts several times through the day already.

i gave snick her "big" birthday gift over a month ago, which is her wall lounger.........


another gift i always give snick is a quiet day for us to spend together, because she loves that as much as i do. so we're enjoying our relaxing day together too.

She is so precious with those big, angelic eyes.  I love seeing cats who are as loved and doted upon as she clearly is.  

I like the wall lounger idea, too.

I wish I knew when Angel's birthday was. (I'd even be happy if I knew what season he was born).

Last Friday, the 25th, was his "Gotcha Day."   I don't remember the date he came to me, because he visited off & on before staying, but July 25. '09  was

the first time I took him to the vet to "make it official," so that's his gotcha date. 

What a gorgeous cat! Happy birthday Snick! And happy birthday to Mickey too - still worth celebrating even if he's not physically there to receive his gifts and showers of love.

i bought that wall lounger from a seller on etsy. there's a lot of cool wall furniture available there.

i actually don't know snick's (and mickey's) true birth date. i adopted them both when they were almost 4 weeks old, so i chose a date that would be close to their true birth date.

i like to think that mickey was able to celebrate his birthday through snick receiving her gifts and love from mommy. mickey loved his sister (litter mate) very dearly.

Happy birthday, Snick!!!!    I love that wall lounger and have thought about getting a couple of them for our kitties.  Does she use it a lot?  She looks pretty comfortable in it!
