Good morning and Happy August 1!

We don't have any major plans for this weekend. Rick is taking his mom to a viewing on Saturday morning and while he's gone, I plan to clean the house a bit. And then when he gets back home, we're going out to do some shopping. Our homeowner's insurance reviewer says that now (after having a pool for 30 years), we need self-latching gates at the pool fence. So we'll be off to Lowes to buy new hardware for our gates. Other than our shopping, we'll be spending time outside in the garden (the zucchini and summer squash are REALLY coming on now!) and we need to start keeping a close eye on the corn; it's getting close to corn-picking time....and *knock on wood* we might actually get some corn this year! So it's working in the garden and me working in the house. That's pretty much it for our weekend.

How about you? What are you doing this weekend that's interesting?

Nothing interesting here - even if I wanted to visit home for civic holiday long weekend, this mess happened and the extent of the damage means what was already a pain of a bottleneck will be under construction all long weekend! With people visiting family or coming up towards Toronto for some festival, it won't be a fun drive for anyone.

I'm going to be working and looking at my elective courses for next year. Fingers crossed I can find online ones so I can spend less time commuting and at school. If we have time, I might meet up with a classmate who just returned from China. She brought me gifts (okay, I told her I really wanted them - I think I owe her like $25)!

Tomorrow, I have to work.. 11-4. I hate these afternoon shifts, such a waste of a day. I prefer morning 9-2 shifts so I have the rest of the day to myself.
At least it's supposed to rain tomorrow.. so working won't be so bad.

Sunday, I am heading out to my parents. They're having some friends over that I'd like to see.. plus I want to say hello to my nieces. I don't see my family often enough! It's also supposed to be a rainy day.

I was supposed to get my maternity pictures done tonight, but I had to reschedule. My husband hit his head and has a concussion and a huge red mark on his forehead.

It's a long weekend here (Monday is civic holiday) and we have a wedding on Sunday. My cousin who was my maid of honour is getting married. I'm not in the wedding party, although my sister is for some reason. I was a little upset about that at first since she was my maid of honour, but now I am glad. I've seen how much money my sister has had to spend being in this wedding and I just don't have the money. Plus, I'd rather not stand up in front of everyone at 7 months pregnant.

Nothing too exciting planned here, either.  The last couple of weeks have been so hectic, I'm looking forward to having nothing planned, actually!

Nothing!  It looks like we may get some rain; which we really need!

Actually I'm hoping to make my pickles since I didn't get to yesterday.  I'm hoping to get to a farmers market in a bit; if the weather holds up.  There is a chance for storms today too.

The family is celebrating my sister's 86th birthday so we are all going to her daughter's house.  She is having all sorts of good stuff to eat and I'm always up for that

We are also celebrating her twins birthday which falls the day after.  Aug. 5th and 6th are the two days we are celebrating. On Tuesday, my sister's actual birthday, I will be taking her out for lunch or dinner.

I'll be taking my camera
with me to take some family pictures.  Other than that my SO and I will just spend time together, maybe go out for dinner on Saturday night.

Hope everyone has a nice weekend.

it'll be a pretty quiet weekend here. i'll be doing a few things around the house tomorrow, then sunday will be cleaning the house and laundry.

my mom is going home from the care facility today (after her hip surgery and physical therapy), so i'll call her tomorrow and see how she's doing.

@pinkdagger what a scary wreck!

I'll be moving into my new house.  Well, new-to-me house.  I'm excited about it, it's quite a step up from this house.  The only thing I don't like is the washer and dryer are in the garage.  I can't hear the dryer stop, and there's no buzzer on it.  That's minor and can be dealt with.
