My kitty hasn't been using her litterbox the past 3 weeks. I know that she's had a lot of upsets lately and I'm trying to work through them with her. My partner, who usually works out of town and is only back every 3 weeks was back for the entire months of April, May and June and kitty was just getting used to him. It took her a long time to warm up to him, but we had some personal wins including her sitting in his lap instead of mine and sleeping on his chest in the morning instead of mine. But then he left for the country for the month of July and for the past 3 months he had been home during the day.

Then the 2nd week of July I went out of town for a few days to visit family. I had some really caring friends come to care for kitty, feed and play with her, everyday that I was gone. Once I got back...I had to go straight back to work and I work pretty long hours.

She has pretty bad separation anxiety as she is a rescue....but for the most part she's always been really good. Save for the first few weeks after we got her (last August), she's always used her litterbox and I've always worked the same hours without my partner being home during the day. It's only the past few months where someone has been home during the day and I think she's just upset with all of the sudden changes. She got used to having someone home during the day, then he was gone - then I left for a few days, then I am gone during the days.

She literally will poop and pee just outside of her litterbox. My shower is next to it, and she'll usually do it on the bath mat so I removed it so it's just tile, and she's still doing it. I recently got the Feliway diffuser and it doesn't seem to be helping at all. In fact, before she was just peeing out of the litterbox and now she's peeing AND pooing out of the litterbox.

The litterbox is clean as well, I've cleaned it all and replaced it with fresh litter. I'm at a loss....I don't know how to get her to stop because unfortunately....I can't just not go to work!

Suggestions??
