Greetings Everyone~!
I am new here and wanted to introduce myself. My name is Teddy and I'm a first time cat parent. I've always wanted a cat ever since I was young, but I never was able to because the timing was never right. Now that things have finally settled down, I decided to finally sit down and decide on adding a furry companion into my life. I never had a pet before (occasional goldfishes, though you try to pet a fish....) so the whole idea of being responsible of another living thing was daunting, but I knew it something I needed and was passionate about for quiet a while now. I knew off the bat that I wanted an older cat, while kittens are cute and the idea of raising it from baby to life was scary and overwhelming for me. The more I thought about it the idea of getting an adult cat was more ideal for me, the pros outweighed the cons by a long shot. The day finally came ,7/29/14, I headed to the shelter (first time ever in a shelter as well) with no intentions to adopt that day either; just looking around and to get a feeling of the whole process. While I was looking at all the kitties and cats, I saw and connected with one particular cat ,Momo (originally Granite) a 6 year old. While his neighbors were meowing and reaching out through the cages, he had the ever so puzzled look in his eyes, which I found quiet funny and can totally relate if I was his situation. A few hours later and a trip to the pet store, I let him out into the bathroom where I decided to have him acclimate. Fast forward to about week 2, he's still skittish and shy, but he's getting a little more comfortable each day. Hopefully he'll open up more and spend more quality time out rather than hiding under the bed.
