I have never ordered cat food online for my babies but it is getting harder and harder to get in the city. In the little town I live in (pop. 3,300) we only have a Dollar General and IGA. I cant drive due to epilepsy from a stroke I had 2 years ago. so I depend on others and hate to do that at least the least possible. So I have decided to start ordering online. I have looked through some places but only people with actual experience will know their habits and customer service. Please if you can let me know who you use and their strengths and even what you have thought about others. Everyone has a right to their own opinion and people here are pretty civil is what I like. Thanks for sugestions, I appretiate it!

If I know it is a food that my cats like such as Fancy Feast  I always order online .. Amazon .com has some good prices on certain varieties ..On  some brands you can also save with the Subscribe & Save Option ..   I also find that most thing are much cheaper on   www.chewy.com   I use them a lot and the customer service is very good ..    www.pet360.com  also has good prices on some things .. It depends on what you are looking for though ..

Walmart .com is good too  if you are looking for some of the less expensive foods ..

Doesn't Dollar General carry Sheba pate? I think that I remember the brand being discussed on the recent active thread about Fancy Feast.

I'm an hour's drive from the nearest big chain or boutique pet store so I order just about everything online too. Before I started ordering cases, I made a list of everything that I wanted my boys to taste test and made a trip to the pet stores getting one can of each. With their approval, I now order from Amazon or Petco.

I haven't compared prices to some of the online stores noted above primarily because the boys love Soulistic Good Karma. Soulistic is Petco's store brand (can't get it anywhere else). I joined Petco's Pal Rewards program ($5 coupon each time you spend $100). They'll fill your inbox with almost daily sales though. I'm waiting on a delivery now (food I needed was on sale - $5 reward coupon - $10 one day only - 10% entire order (birthday email for cat from Petco) plus free shipping. Pretty good deal!

Today, I was checking on my Petco order and noticed that one of my rotation canned foods is 50% off. So when the next "free shipping" email comes in, I'll be stocking up! With the email coupon codes, 5% back, and watching the sales when I'm getting low, I'm pleased with their prices. However, customer service is in a foreign county. Hard to understand but very courteous and helpful.

You know when I was in Dollar General getting treats a while ago I saw Sheba but didn't think anything of it a I had never heard of it and DG doesn't ever have anything I would have ever given mine except Friskies pate and now they only carry 2 kinds and mine wont eat them. I think I will walk over today and check it out. They have some single cans as well as packs. My cats will only eat pate so that's good. Friday I get paid and I have a coupon for $5 of $25 you spend on SAturday so if they like some I can get a couple of the packs. I will check on Petco too as I have a card from a while back when I lived in the city. Chewy looks in my budget also but I will keep checking all their sales. I have them saved in favorites. Thanks everyone!!!

I order from www.chewy.com a lot. Their customer service is excellent and I've never had a problem with them. I used to order from www.doggiefood.com but they raised the price on the stuff I order and they seem to have a little trouble with shipping times/accuracy. Their customer service is great and they always fix it quick but usually you want your order pretty quickly and they aren't really consistent. I'd recommend them anyway if you aren't in a hurry.

If you make an account with those sites they'll e-mail you coupon codes and sale notices. You can make an account without ordering.

Ah MiaNNorvy, here's the thread I was trying to remember:

http://www.thecatsite.com/t/281101/how-do-you-guys-feel-about-sheba-p-t-and-cuts

I would love to be able to feed my boys 100% high end brands like Tiki Cat, Weruva, Primal, and RadCat but alas, we live within our means, right?  And when you're one of 'those' who won't feed fish (except as an occasional treat), and doesn't like to feed grains, soy, corn, a lot of vegetables, gravy, mystery meat by-products, menadione, carrageenan, etc., etc., the canned foods available that's high meat protein, and low carb is a very short list and still have a few ingredients you don't like.  And it's even shorter when you're trying to please their of so picky palates!

If only SOMEONE would sell "Mouse in Can"!  But, cat food is marketed to people, not cats.

So, my boys get some of the good stuff and some of the not perfect stuff each day and I hope for the best.

As for Sheba pate, the label looks like it high meat protein, low carbs, and no veggies or fruits.  The downside is by-products, menadione and 'assumed' BPA in can lining.

I have to watch how much I do spend each month too as I am on SSDI, for 12 years now but I'm not giving up my babies, we get by. Its just we moved to a very remote area so I have to make accomadations in buying things.

...with the cats...
i live in a rural area and don't drive. well, i do drive my rider lawn mower, but it has a top speed of 5 miles per hour so i'm very limited for where i'm able to drive to. i've ordered all my cat's foods online for 3 years now.

my snick absolutely adores petco's soulistic canned cat foods (particular flavors, she's very picky), so i order from petco about every other month. i make sure i order enough to get free shipping (i believe it's a $49 order or higher to get free shipping) every time. i've tried their repeat delivery twice and ended up cancelling that both times because the software for the repeat delivery is just horrible. i have found it next to impossible to change items and amounts in the repeat delivery program. i did just set up a new repeat delivery order with petco though. this time i've planned it knowing that i can't change the items or amounts in the order, and chose every 9 weeks for the shipments to be sent out. this should work well for me. the good thing about the repeat delivery is that i save about $2.00 per 8-pack (of 5.5 oz cans) of soulistic. my experience with petco's customer service has been good, but as someone else posted customer service is in a foreign country.

i also use petflow dot com's auto-ship. they have good prices on weruva canned cat foods as well as other brands. my snick likes some of the weruva cats in the kitchen canned/pouches cat foods, so i order these so she has more variety. petflow's auto-ship software is very easy to use, and i can change the items/amounts/etc or even pause the shipments quickly and easily. i make sure i order enough to always get the free shipping here too, and i only let the order ship when i'm needing these cat foods (i can "skip" the order, or move the ship date back). it's a $55 order or higher to get free shipping at petflow. i've never needed to contact petflow's customer service.

i've used only natural pet dot com too, but only to try new brands/flavors before buying them by the case at other websites.

I had not heard of pet flow .com so thanks. Yes I live out here in hickville as we call it and I have the luck of not being able to drive the last 2 years. Its driving me bonkers. I don't know if I will ever be able to get a licence back again either that's up to God so I'm trying to get used to all this.  :)

In paradise, under a cat pile
I am afraid to order on line. Fear of out dated food.
My cats like Sheba brand better than Fancy Feast. I feel better them eating it than their other choice Meow Mix.
They hate most food so it is hard to feed them. It doesn't matter if it suppose to be better or not. They don't read labels. They only taste and puke.My old cat was the only one that even came close to raw or even cooked food. So that is out. They have pudgy tummys and skin looks good. Teeth.. some are so white..They still eat kibbles. Some rather have that. No sale on the wet. They mostly eat ONE hairball. They liked the new Super food ONE with the herring in it. They are rebeling now for me to get some. They don't want the Kitten ONE. Bored I guess. We use to get that one for Meuzette ofr the kibbles are smaller. She had a bad jaw and couldn't eat large sizes.

Ack! No mice!!!!!!!   lol
Alistair, YES! I do buy the little frozen white mice in the reptile section of the pet stores. That's my absolute favor treat! And MiaNNory, if you can watch your fur babies eat a moth or bug, you can handle the tiny mice. They're sold in different sizes, some as small as 2" long.

The mice are as much fun for us as they are for Java (our indoor only former feral). I'll let one thaw overnight in the refrigerator and toss in the garage the next day. This is when the little wild feral comes out! I never thought that I'd enjoy having a wild animal growl at me! His eyes get huge, he stalks, pounces, and throws the mouse in the air. He even struts around with the mouse between his teeth growling! I have never seen him play with any toy or live bug like he does a dead mouse!

After about a half hour, he's resisted as long as he can and chomp, chomp it's gone (sometimes a third chomp). If he could smile, he'd look like a Cheshire cat! :chescat:

It's pure entertainment just to see a true hunting carnivore in action. Plus, no blood, no guts, and no gore. He eats it all and is even nice enough to lick the floor!

I'm out. I have no garage just a little one bedroom apartment.  lol  Otherwise I might think of it as a treat once in awhile.

The taste and puke is for sure. I bought some Iams wet food at Walmart as it didn't cost that much compared to the others there. They both liked it, but after a few days Mia started projectile vomiting after having eaten. Over and over again. She wont touch it again and although Norville would like to I have decide I am tired of trying wet food. I will stick with dry. At least the few times she has vomited it, it has come out in a tube/roll type item you can pick up. It has no hairballs in it. Those come out in her poop. I don't even give her anything for them.
