HI!

You could perhaps contact these shelters anyway, and ask them if they can recommend some cheap and good vet they know or themselves use.

Otherwise some links which may become useful:

Some links to get hold on cheap spaying clinics.  Many of them will surely also help cheaply with standard veterinary treatment.

cheap  spaying:
If you are in the U.S. ,  the ASPCA has an online database.  http://www.aspca.org/pet-care/spayneuter

Or here is a hotline number that will find you a low cost clinic in your area  1-800-248-7729

www.spayusa.org

Im also calling on two of our members who are very experienced with home treatments:   @catwoman707 ,   @Red Top Rescue

Good luck!

If you're in CA most likely there are plenty of "no kill" shelters. This may be the most humane option as it would be much worse to,let them suffer and still most likely die.

Just call first and explain your situation. You will have to surrender them obviously, but at least they"ll have a chance.

The bottom line here is, they need to be put on clavamox asap.

They sound like they have an upper respiratory infection (uri) and will not get well if not given the antibiotics, their immune systems are simply too under-developed at this point, they will dehydrate and not make it through.

So you do not mention their age. This will help determine their outcome too.

If you don't know, tell me this, eyes are open? Ears are upright?

Eyes blue still? Do they walk with rear legs fully straight like an older kitten, or are they a bit crouched?

Do they eat on their own? Teeth?

Do they run? Wrestle?

Describe what you see and hear as far as symptoms.

Eyes crusty/goopy?

Dried nose discharge or wet? Color of it?

Are you unable to catch the kittens to take them to a vet? You only need to take one, and then explain that all the kittens have the exact same symptoms, and your vet will prescribe antibiotics that are enough for all of them. Do you have a regular veterinarian to whom you bring your cats regularly? If so, and you're unable to catch any of the kittens, take pictures of them and their mucous and then email them to your vet and call and explain your situation. Chances are the vet may prescribe antibiotics for the kittens. I don't know about your area, but in my area, there is a supermarket chain called "Giant Eagle" that gives out free antibiotics. A few months ago, I brought one of my sick cats in to my vet, and she prescribed enough for all of my cats without my bringing them in, since URI's are very contagious. She called them in to the Giant Eagle pharmacy, who measured out the dose in liquid form and included the appropriate dropper. I didn't have to pay a cent. Someone posted on this board once that antibiotics for fish can be bought over the counter and measured out to treat cats--but I don't recall the details. Perhaps this poster will post the info again.

You do need to get them antibiotics ASAP, though, because kittens dehydrate very easily and can die very quickly. Be sure you're giving them a lot of wet food with water added. If you take them to a shelter while they're sick, they will likely be euthanized so they don't infect the other cats. No-kill shelters will not take sick cats.

Its true, there were such posters and the trick surely works for  these knowleable.

But to use that product you must know what you do.  Experienced and or very knowleable.

If you arent knowleable, be so desperate and without any other resources, so you are willing to try practically anything.  Beyond prayers to God, and with woodo the next step to try...

The TS got so many tips here, he shouldnt be THAT desperate.

As dehydration is one of the major dangers here, try to help the kittens with fluids.  It depends in much if they are handleable, and you do have them at home...

A home made pedialyte, and if necessary, some forcefeeding, may often be a great help, while waiting for more professional help.

If they are outside and ferale, make sure they at least have a good access to clean water.  Which is doubly important these hot days.  (In Sweden we had it very hot the last 3 weeks).

Good luck!

If you can even afford to take one of them, maybe the veterinarian will prescribe enough antibiotics for both. Google "free antibiotics" next to the city where you live to see if any supermarkets and drug stores offer the deal available in my area. Then see if the vet will call it in for your cats.

I found the information posted on this forum a while back about using fish antibiotics for cats. The medicine is called "Fishmox," and it comes in 250mg capsules. For cats under 10 lbs, a quarter of a capsule is given twice a day. Please, someone, if this is inaccurate, correct me. Rather than surrender the cats to be euthanized, please try the Fishmox--at least they will have a chance. A green discharge usually indicates a bacterial infection, and they will need antibiotics.

I did a Google search for "Riverside, CA feral cats" and this link came up: https://www.facebook.com/riversidestraycats

Perhaps you could send them a message and ask for advice.

I also found this link with low cost spay and neuter options: https://pawsandlearn.org/Low_Cost_Spay_Neuter.html

PLEASE get the momma cat, as well as her babies, fixed as soon as you can! It is very difficult for her to care for so many litters of kittens as an outdoor cat, as you can tell by the infections caught by some of her kittens. Her life and her kittens' lives will be so much happier if you get them fixed.

I adopted kittens with same symptoms and the shelter gave me a prescription for eye drops humans use when we have conjuntavitus and they said at that age they don't give antibiotics and they were only 4 weeks and weighed 1 lb . also my vet said you are safe across the board with Benadryl I don't know how much you would give but I would use kids Benadryl and give half of the minimal dose of maybe 1 ml.
