First, i would like to talk about Mystique. she is 8 years old now and is the most loving cat i have ever seen. i just don't know what breed she may be other than DSH. She has markings similar to a Cow Cat, but she is gray and white instead of the black and white every description i can find states she should be. the only black on her is the little dot on her nose and the very tip of her tail. She is a very talkative kitty and very possessive and protective of her person. she is a full time indoor cat that completely freaks out if taken outside. her build, in many ways is similar to Siamese and Burmese. thankfully, her chatter isn't the fingernails on a black board screeching of Siamese, but actually very mellow and melodic. her parents and siblings were all black and white with the same physical characteristics as her, and her mother and sister are both talkers, where her father and brothers are not.

And then, there is Stormy. she is a tiny little thing that weighs about 5 pounds. She is also a talker with a mellow voice. when her previous guardian gave her to me, she informed me that she is a Ragamuffin. However, other than fur type, she doesn't have any of the characteristics of that breed. she is very tightly wound and does not like to be held, but she does love to be petted and brushed. My father used to raise Norwegian Forest Cats, and in all but size, she is a dead ringer for appearance and temperament. both breeds are slow to mature, taking up to 5 years to grow up. so the question is, which is she, Ragamuffin or Norwegian Forest Cat?

I havent heard the expression Cow cat.  It sounds like the pattern and colors of tuxedo.

Grey is a diluted black,so its not peculiar a cat having genetics for black, - is grey.  Grey is called for blue in the cat fanciers language.

Re Stormy - I dont see her as a typical NFC look alike. They have a quite typical triangularish  heads.

So either a small Maine Coon alike, or perhaps even - a Siberian...

Good luck!
