Hi, everyone. I've been mulling over an issue and thought this would be a great place to get input/feedback. I had several houseplants before I got Mr. Grimsby and Bertha. Now, I've learned that all of them are toxic to some degree for cats - one of them may even be lethal! And I understand that some cut flowers can seriously harm cats.
You know, when you buy a plant/bouquet it usually comes with care and feeding instructions. What it doesn't come with is advice on toxicity for pets. The only way you can get this information is by searching the net. I think a national campaign to raise awareness with florists, garden stores, etc. would help pet owners everywhere - not only to keep our pets safe and healthy but to prevent costly vet visits!
I'd like to get your reactions/suggestions on this idea. Do you think it's do-able and how would you approach the people who grow and sell houseplants? For that matter, how would you even find the wholesale growers! What do you think?
Thank you very much for your suggestions.
Best regards,
PHarber-Murphy
