Hmm what is this?

So I've been thinking jinx is pretty close so I've been keeping her in my room - where her nesting area is. I went in to check on her and noticed a bit of a stain on the bed and on the floor. It's yellowish orange - no smell- I assumed it was her water breaking.
I was in petting her and she moved around an there was more on her fur - clearly coming from her vaginal area.

It feels slightly slimy - still no smell and wipes off the fur easily (not sticky)

Was I wrong about her water breaking? Or are we starting?

No sign of contractions - mostly just fidgety and licking herself but them again I'm not with her every second.

All the cat births I have experience with have been very fast and obvious.

That's for the links! I've been trying to look but there are so many articles out there that it was overwhelming (especially since they all said somethig different lol)

Ours are all approved by our group leader and other writers and advisors so at least they are in agreement with OUR general knowledge.  There are a few others but I just sent the ones that seemed appropriate for your present situation.

That's what I love so much about this forum. (I called the vet as well - an sent the picture via email- this morning) he said that it looked like the start of labour and to bring her in tomorrow if nothing happens or sooner if she's distressed without visible labour.
Contractions have just started moments ago - of course she wants to be in the kitchen for the birth :/
