Is it better to have them see each other a lot? I have a mesh screen that I put up to vinson's room. And, should I be with my resident kitty or the new one, while they are in view of each other? If I am with amber she has this sound she makes, pretty mcuh all the time she can see him. she will start, if she hasnt made this sound for a space of a few seconds, if I pet her. its a low, long, throaty type of non verbal meow. I think some of you will know what I mean.

I know it still has to be a lot longer, its only been a few days since bringing vinson home, to have amber accept him. I have a plugin and I put vanilla on them both today.

If the new cat has been vet checked and checked out 100% okay, it is so much easier on the two cats to not be cut off from each other through a solid door. (imo) It allows them to smell each other, watch each other and it gives the new cat a chance to hear the sounds of the house and get use to the pulse of the home as well.

Yeah, he has been checked and vaccinated. I dont leave the screen up without supervision, and I have had it up numerous times throughout the day, just sitting there and watching the cats. I feel so bad for vinson when amber hisses at him and charges the screen! he just wants to play. poor baby, in due time.
