I really want to know if different brands/kinds of canned food can change a cat's ph.

When I first started researching food, I read that wet food will make the ph between _ & _. I thought all wet food is good no matter what kind. My kitties were on Weruva & their ph was around 5-6, now they are on Nature's Variety Instinct & their ph's are around 7.5-8. I don't understand how it changed! Do I really have to switch cat food, AGAIN?

It really depends on the kitty.  I take it your kitty has a history of issues with crystals.  These kitties do much better on some foods versus others.  Wet food helps because of the extra moisture really anything that ups water intake helps because it makes the urine less concentrated.  Urine pH though is different and for these kitties certain foods help keep it in the safe range.

I have 3 kitties & I've tested all them when they were on the other food & now again. Their ph is different. It's more alkaline than it was on the Weruva. I will keep trying to find an answer because I just got a new little one yesterday & don't want to start her off on the wrong foot.

You know there was someone else whose kitty had a history of crystals and she said the same thing about pH and Nature's Variety.  It must be something with the foods formula.  I don't feed a lot of Nature's Variety both because of the price and my two picky kitties don't particularly care for it.  My male doesn't have a history of issues and with as little of it as I feed I really can't say if there are more of these issues with it or not.
