Hi everyone! I'm brand new to the site. I'm really hoping I can get some advice with a kitten that I found, very skinny and in need of some TLC. I'd say he was about 3 1/2 weeks old when I found him a week ago last Friday. I immediately got him some kmr which he readily drank from his bottle.I stimulated him for a few days to help with pottying but he caught on to the litter box pretty fast. Everything seemed normal with him up until Thursday, when he started breathing heavily, became listless, and refused to eat.I took him to the vet who gave him a shot (he was dehydrated) and she dewormed him and took his temp, which was normal. He weighs about 7 grams. She said often stray kittens get exposed to viruses that their immune systems can't fight without moms milk. So she prescribed an antibiotic (clovamox?) And sent us on our way, saying to bring him back the next day, which I did. He was showing signs of improvement, eating most cat food and becoming more active, although he was dehydrated still (she gave another sub q hydration shot) Later that afternoon he began to decline again. I've been force feeding him pedialyte with an eye dropper, and antibiotics every 12 hours, 0.2 cc's since Friday afternoon. He is sleeping a lot. Another detail, at the time when I find him he had patchy spots on his tail and hind legs. Not mange or ringworm. The vet prescribed a medicated shampoo, which I used on him yesterday when we got back. I followed the protocol for kitten bathing (keeping them warm, etc.) But anyway my question at hand is, is there anything else that I can be doing for him? I don't think his breathing is related to obstructed airways (no discharge whatsoever from nose). Thanks so much!

I'm sorry you didn't get a reply sooner. Only just now noticed the thread had no replies. How's your kitten doing these days?
