For some of us, it's a hot summer day... for some others, it's been a pretty mild summer. And of course, for some of us it's not even summer! But that's okay, we need no excuses to eat ice cream. I've been eating a bowl of coconut-based chocolate ice cream every single day even though it's been cool here.

So quick, TCS is at a buffet, it's dessert time, and they have everything you've ever wanted in frozen treats! What flavour(s) of ice cream are you getting? How do you take your ice cream? Non-dairy? Frozen yogurt? Sorbets? Sprinkles, nuts, syrup, whipped cream, waffles, pieces of chocolates or gummies, fruits, other foodstuffs?

Also, does anyone else chew their ice cream?

I would load up on chocolate, vanilla, and green tea, and then mango, heavenly hash, rocky road, and butterscotch if there's still time and I don't explode or succumb to lactose intolerance.
I forgo sprinkles, syrups, and other toppings so I can fill up on ice cream and ice cream only! I can't not chew ice cream, even after it's already melted in my mouth...

Funny your QOTD would be about ice cream this morning.
Rick noticed last night that our local ice cream shop's extra flavor right now is teaberry. When we go in town for lawn mower gas, he will be stopping for a large teaberry ice cream cone. No sprinkles, no additions, just an ice cream cone.

Me, I'm for chocolate marshmallw (heavy on the mallow). Or rocky road. Ice cream cones (maybe with chocolate sprinkles). We'll see.

When it's really, really frozen, I can chew it.

I've been dying to try the bacon ice cream that one of my local shops sells.  Otherwise I like a lots of flavors and styles if you will.  Everything from Italian ice to frozen yogurt to ice cream.  Ice cream is probably my favorite since I love fat.  My favorite...probably something with butterscotch or caramel in vanilla  Some nuts too.

Hmm Hmm Hmm... I think i'd go with something simplistic myself. Maybe some chocolate ice cream, throw in some crushed oreo cookie, and maybe some sprinkles on top for just a hint of color lol. Only you pinky would get me wanting some ice cream for breakfast...

I love peach or lemon frozen yogurt.  But right now I have chocolate ice cream in the freezer.  I bought some raw cane sugar infused with green chili just because it smelled so good but wasn't really sure what to do with it.  Then I read that it's good sprinkled on chocolate ice cream.  It's true--it's delicious!

Lately, I am really liking banana splits, especially from Dairy Queen. I like the soft ice cream topped with strawberry on the 2 ends and chocolate in the middle with nuts and whipped cream.
I have only had it a few times this summer but I could probably eat one every day.

Now you've got me craving frozen yogurt!!  Hubby had to go downtown on an errand, so I talked him into stopping at the frozen yogurt place while he's tree to get some to bring home.

My favorite is Toffee fudge ice cream, I hid my Hagan Daz from my hubby one night and ate it all when he went to bed.
I did share with the cats though. HaHa.

My absolute favorite (and I don't consider myself a big ice cream person) is the cheesecake flavor from the Marble Slab with raspberries mixed in.  Sooooo good!

Other than that I like it if it is chocolate with cookies like oreo or cookie dough mixed in.  I'd add some hot fudge too.  Every now and then hot fudge is really nice.

I like chocolate chip if it's made with a good shaved dark chocolate.  There is an ice cream made in Cincinnati called Graeter's that makes really good super premium french pot ice cream and most of their flavors have the shaved dark chocolate added to them.  I also like vanilla with dark chocolate syrup.

My favorite would be strawberry, but when we buy ice cream (and that's not too often), we get the Neapolitan -chocolate, vanill and strawberry.

Oh and we just discovered ice cream sandwiches that we both love -- Skinny Cow - only 150 calories and they're great. Buy them at Costco.

ITA about the Skinny Cow ice cream sandwiches. They taste just like regular ones. All their ice cream products are good. The Weight Watcher ice cream products are great too. I have some of the mocha bars and chocolate cookies & cream bars in my freezer right now. Both are fantastic.

I always used to love mint choc' chip but the last couple of years a nice light tasting plain vanilla does it best for me.  Had a very yummy sundae recently though which was a mix of vanilla ice cream scoops, lemon sorbet scoops and Lemoncello sauce.  Very refreshing.  Also love the green apple sorbet another local parlour does but it's only on occasionally.
A huge bowl with sections and lots of different tangy fruit sorbets like lemon, green apple and black currant, vanilla ice cream, and maybe a little frozen yoghurt thrown in there for good measure would do me just fine.
Mostly I'd go for neat and no sauces or wafers or anything.

Welcome to the Sunday QOTD, pinkdagger!

Ice cream with peanut butter in it and maybe some chocolate too. It has to be a vanilla base though and I would probably add some whipped cream on.

I love Mint Chocolate Chip, but, my all-time favorite is called "Tiger Tail" and is something I can't ever seem to find anymore. It's orange flavored with black licorice chunks. I would eat it in a waffle cone.

I also love Rainbow Sherbet. The raspberry, lime, orange combination. Sherbet for me is always eaten in a bowl!

Thanks @AbbysMom!

Every opportunity is a good one to talk about (and eat) ice cream!

I've never tried any Skinny Cow products but I have heard really good things about them. They look really good too, but I can't justify buying it. I think I assume things are more expensive when they come in smaller packages. Or maybe I just haven't gotten "with" the inflation of prices since I started grocery shopping for myself.

@peaches08 let us know what the bacon ice cream is like! My boyfriend got a gag gift from his sister, bacon candy canes, and they were terrible and not even bacon-y in the least. Bland and weird tasting.

@AlyssaM my dad used to bring home giant tubs (like the ones buffets let you scoop out of) of ice cream, and he got tiger tail a few times. You're right though, it seems to have gone the way of the dinosaurs. I haven't even seen it offered in decades.

Nomanom!  That Tiger Tail sounds right up my street.
Might have to have a go at making that!
