Can was spayed ten days ago her incision was glued and a lump formed. There still is a lump and where it was glued has closed up except for one little spec that appears red. I brought her in to look at the incision he said it was the sutures. He put her on clavamox and know has diarrehea but is extremely active and eats well.only  3 more days of clavamox. An animal welfare group spayed her but they never answer the phone during the week so trying to get advice here. She I try to keep her on the clavamox and how long till this wound heals??

Hi;

I have seen the Clavamox cause diarrhea in cats and kittens before. It is really hard to tell you what to do online. So, the rescue you took her to is the same doctor that prescribed the clavamox right? You said there were no sutures and they just glued the area? but the bump is a suture? Not sure I understand. Is she licking at the inscision? Is she still confined to a small area or is she running free in the house? Is she very active?

He put her on clavamox and I do not know why perhaps a precaution and possibly the inner sutures were infected. This welfare society is horrible. They do not say anything and seem like they do not care. Its like a fixing factory there. Once they are done with you it seems they are done and go find a vet. You go there to save money but the lady who runs it is horrible. HAD heard the dr there was very good so decided to go there. Live and learn I guess. I just may take her off the clavamox. This poor cat has been through so much.

Sorry the place seems to be so irresponsible as to not have any reasonable follow up care available. I cannot tell you what to do or not to do nor can I say for you to discontinue the veterinary prescribed antibiotics that are most likely causing your cat to vomit.

It is normal for vets to put a cat on Clavamox as a result of a suture reaction (to help prevent an infection.) Clavamox *can* cause diarrhea in some cats. You could try putting her on a probiotic and see if that helps. FortiFlora is often carried by most vets and is tolerated and palatable to most cats.

I would suggest contacting your regular vet and ask them what they advise.

And, I believe you are correct, I think most low-cost spay/neuter clinics do very basic care and advise you to see your regular vet if there are complications of any kind from surgery.
