I am currently pregnant and have 4 furbabies. My boyfriend isnt that supportive and yells about me asking him to clean the litterboxes. I have explained to him what doctors have told me about the disease and that I dont want to risk the baby developing any birth defects associated with it, especially since I'm a surrogate mother carrying the child for a friend who cant have children. I need some people who know more about this disease to give me more info and advice

The good news is that the feline fecal material has to be out of the cat for about a day in order to be infective.

The bad news is you need to change the litter pan daily.

The person you  need to talk to though is your human doctor because the information I have is just from what I have learned at vet hospitals not human hospitals so being as human medicine is way more advanced than veterinary medicine you should talk to them.

Really, why risk it? Not worth it. Your unsupportive boyfriend needs to stop yelling at you and help you. But of course what needs to be done is often not what is done. So...Try to figure out what it is he is objection to. It is probably anything to do with the litter. Most men don't want to scoop a litter box. Could you maybe just use regular litter and have him just toss the entire thing (not the pan) in the trash and refill daily to keep his time and poop sifting to a minimum?

I have found that scoopable litter is the worst thing for people that are not cat friendly as in litter box cleaning and all. Another type is feline pine that kind of just turns to saw  dust but some cats don't like it and you don't want the additional stress of them not using a litter box. So try the regular and maybe it will be easier for both of you if he just picks up the box and dumps it outside in the trash for you on a daily basis,

OK, out of ideas now that don't involve a big stick

Hope something works out

I've been just tossing all of it out but he's out of the picture now and I only really change the boxes 2-3 times a week since I have multiple boxes one for each cat
