We've had several of our cats bit by snakes. Most have been on the tail and they recovered fine. However, two were recently bit on the face. The female didn't have much reaction other than a slightly swollen face. The male was lethargic and barely moved. He now has a small scar on his nose. My question is do these cats now have an immunity to the snake that bit them?

My cat got bit by a brown snake a few months back and the vet said if it was a adult brown (less deadly than a baby brown) it might nip a cat and not give much venom at all and the cat can be fine..or it can just mean a longer drawn out death..my cat was droopy for a day (1 of my 2 at mums) and as soon as i was told i got him to the vet..they gave him anti venom and put him on a drip and he was there a few days..the vet said an hour or 2 longer and he would have died.
Thats the only experience ive had with snakes...

Hi;

No, they do not have immunity because they were bit once.

What kind of snake?

This happened a while ago and it has already healed right?
