I have a precious elderly Siamese. Kitty that belonged to my late father. I know from past experience that she is in some pain. And it's breaking my heart because I don't have the money to take her to the vet. I was wondering if there was any over the counter meds that I could give her? Like my a childrens liquid something? Most days she is ok but others you can tell just like me age catches up to us all!!!! Any advice is appreciated.

P.S. she has her own flannel pillow n blanket n she sleeps with me mostly.

What kind of pain is she in?  Do you think it's arthritis or is it something else?

I believe so. And she desperately needs her nails cut. But that I know how to do. She just doesn't like her paws touched but I've been working on that and she is letting me touch them more now so I will just do a few at a time. But I am more worried about her comfort level right now.

If you think it's her joints or something, I've been researching green lipped mussel lately & it seems to work wonders. It's natural so it will probably be more safe then medicine. Hare Today has powder. I just bought a bottle of pills off amazon, which I'll open up & put on the kitties food.

I think shark cartilage is another natural solution to arthritis. I just got Jump Your Bones shark bites, the kitties & my dog LOVE them. That might be an option but that is more of a treat not a supplement.

Hope that helps.

They make arthritis supplements for cats.  She really needs to see a vet.  Here animal control does services based on income.  She may have some internal illness.  How old is she?

She is about 17yrs old. I have tried the all the different so called low #&$[emoji]169[/emoji] if u no what I mean. I have had cats all my life even swear I was a cat in a previous life!!! But my very first kitten was the Puffies exact duplicate n she went blind at 15 and lived until she was 22yrs old. So I am quite sure it is arthritis and the discomfort of her long nails!! She is eating and drinking normally n normal bathroom habits!

I give my arthritic cat Cosequin to help her move better.  You can also try heated pet beds or pet heating pads.  I like the K&H brand of pet bed warmers.

Adequan has worked very well for my 16 yr old. It is an injection given twice weekly for a month and then every 2-4 weeks as needed.
I also use Buprenex as needed and Onsior typically once a week (sometimes twice weekly if he is having a rough day.)
